Am I Ascended If...

Hello all,

I am currently playing my Paragon and map traveled to Cantha. Now, obviously, the Paragon is a Nightfall character and not native to Cantha. I completed the Naphui Quarter Mission with my Paragon and I honestly don't know if I'm ascended. It is the location within Cantha to get Ascended.

Quick question here: Am I ascended (or the Factions equivilent - Weh no Su) if I complete the Ascention mission on a non-native continent?

I checked Wiki and it doesn't say whether someone from another campaign can become Ascended in a different campaign or if you have to do it on the native campaign for that character. Of course, unlike Infusion, there is no clear indicator of when you have achieved it besides trying to gt into a Realm of the Gods. And I'm not keen on doing that as it costs me money or screws a party over if I'm not allowed in (thus starting them with 7 peeps instead of 8).

If someone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
Murphy

You do become Ascended/Local-equivilant if you perfom the required actions, even if you are a non-native.

My Canthan Warrior ascended in the Crystal Desert before ascending anywhere else, and she now benefits from the Ascension after affects (free core secondaries, for example).

But you can't change your secondary until you become ascended in the land you ARE native too.

Ascended in Elona on one of my Canthan chars and it wouldn't let me change my secondary until I did it in Cantha.

So that's something to consider.

I ascended there with my Prophecies born character. The next town you end up in (forgot name) a man will be there who will let you change secondary professions for a fee. I had not ascended in prophecies yet.

Senji's Corner. Senji is the profession changer. It may work there (are you sure?), but it didn't in Command Post.

And I wasn't talking about ascending in Factions, now was I. And the original question on about Ascension, not profession-changing. I brought it up to save the OP some time, in case he was thinking it would be quicker to change his profession if he Ascending in Cantha.

From the wiki page regarding the Hunted! quest (Ascension for Elonian characters):
Quote:
This quest allows Elonian characters to change their secondary professions and enter the Realms of the Gods. Non-Elonian characters do not gain these benefits from completing this quest, instead they must Ascend or become Weh no Su.
And from the Weh no Su page:
Quote:
Characters who are Weh no Su can change their secondary professions and enter the Realms of the Gods. Characters can also gain these benefits through Ascension, and Elonian characters can gain these benefits by completing the quest Hunted!.
So it looks like you should be alright, since it makes no mention about Elonian charactes being limited by becoming Weh no Su first.

Let us know how it goes for you.

Yes you will become Weh no Su or Ascended if you beat the right missions even if you are from another continent! Personally I think Nightfalls ascention is the easiest since all you have to do is beat Hunted! quest.

Elonian (Nightfall) characters don't get ascended unless they do the Hunted! quest. Tyrian (Prophecies) and Canthan (Factions) don't get ascended if they do the Hunted! quest.
