This question goes out to all of you with multiple elite armors on one toon. I am working on filling my HoM with armors (only have 3 so far ) and have no idea what to do with the armors once I dedicate them. Should I keep them to use with different builds (its a necro) or should i salvage them for the materials to craft more?

I like to do either of two things:
1) Keep them and put runes for different builds on them. One for farming, one for general play, etc...
2) Keep them and then play mix and match! See if there are any nice armor combos that you find appealing by using your elite sets.
Frankly, its all up to you. If you farm a lot and have specific builds, use your armors for that. If not, see if you like any combinations.

My main character has 8 armor sets. She had 9 but i got rid of 1 set because storage is just way too full. Only 1 set isn't an elite set which is my 600 armor. I have 1 storage tab just for her armor and have the other sets on a mule character. My other 8 characters have at least 2 elite sets some have more. And they usually just have their sets in their inventory. I like to have different sets just cause i like to look different, I only have different head pieces for different builds.
So to answer your question, I use my characters inventory and storage tabs and a couple of mule characters to hold my armor sets. And yes, my 2 mule characters have elite armors.

Save most of 'em and use different rune/insignia sets on 'em. It'll cut down on the storage space of the extra runes/insignias and save on perfect salvage kits. Mix-and-match armor sets FTW.

Keep them and fill up the two bags on that one character. Then when the mood strikes me I go for a costume change!
In my case my armor hoarder is a Dervish, so mostly I mix'n'match the general looking sets all year round, and then for Halloween or Wintersday I wear the Primevil or Norn respectively. I keep the runes the same across all the sets becuase they're a good general purpose combination and I don't want to be forced into one set or the other.

Only my ranger has more than one set of elite armor, because I liked the 15k drakescale, and then I liked the Norn. Oddly enough, my favorite armor on him is the prophecies collector armor, Krytan I think. Trenchcoat ftw.

for my 2 armor hoarders....they have most of the pieces in their bags (one has 6 sets of Hom type...she has all but the shoes on her--only kept 2 of them since the others are horrible, the other has 4 1/2 sets---she carries it all on her).
Most of my characters carry their own armor...though a few extra pieces are on a mule---mostly mesmer gloves, ele shoes and a mesmer hose----everyone else has it with them at all times. But most of my characters only have one set and an extra with a few unique pieces tossed in--so not much to carry.

I keep them all but use them for different builds/attributes. I have 3 on my ele so far, 1 for fire, 1 for air, and another for earth. My monk has lots of armours, for heal, prot, heal/prot hybrid, 55ing, and smiting...

I don't buy armour sets to fill the HoM, but because I like them. I'm struggling for storage spce though, despite having 3 jam-packed mules.
They aren't all female sets, I was just on a female character when I took the screenies. All 11 of my PvE charatcers are wearing a set and some even have an extra set in their inventories. Why can't they sell storage in the online store?

For HoM purpose, I dont buy them yet, only have few armors each character. When GW2 is going to be released that will be the last thing to be completed for HoM. Waste of space imo.

I keep mine, up to 14 elite war sets used with different builds and different weapon and shield combos.
I recomend once you make the armor NEVER SELL IT OR SALVAGE IT.
But this all depends on what char you use some armor sets look so bad it is not worth it.
Male ele armor for example. only a few sets that I even think look ok for the male ele.

this should belong in suggestions, but if they would only allow bags to be stored in storage with items inside like how everquest does, then we wouldn't have a storage problem. as for answering the question i usually try to keep armor on me then later salvage.

I never have more than 2 sets on a character, and I usually just carry them around with me if my storage can't handle it. I don't like to do that for loots-sake, but the storage account itself is a little more important than being able to carry 5 extra things.

I've been carrying all of my armor sets around with me until today actually, where I finally muled them on a separate account. I don't really *need* to have a spare 7 sets of armor for my monk.. and they take up so much space! If only once they were a complete set, you could store it in one little pile called "Elite Canthan", or "Elite Luxon".....

They take up space in storage, causing me to moan and complain that Anet hasnt made an armorer in the same way they made a festival hat NPC. I actually like having a bunch of armors since there is so little character customization that you can actually do in GW, so I dont salvage them. Each time I'm on I change into something else.
I also have them set for different builds, each having different insignias, though I started doubling up on insignia types after a while of course.

I bought every single elite armor for my HoM from all the campaigns. I salvaged all of them except my FoW, 15k Stormforged (both which I had bought prior to my intent to fill my HoM), and 1 other set that I keep in case I need a spare for a certain build.

Alas, it will never be.
And I force mine to carry their extra sets around, but I have my armour set up for different needs. High energy, high health and so on.

Asuran armor is the only armor I wear on my necro , the others I have so far for the HOM get put aside until further notice
