Hello Ladies and Sirs,
After the April 17th update,
I found my GW.exe send little amount of data to these IPs when starting the updating screen, the port is 80.
Not send to these IPs at the same time, every time I run Guild Wars it chooses one of these.
210.254.104.4 and 210.254.104.42
211.15.42.172
202.47.29.157 and 202.47.29.158
I've never seen these IPs before...or just I've not noticed yet.
And I checked them on Whois, showed these IPs are in Australlia.
Personally I live in Taiwan, and our data storage in American servers.
I donno that Anet host servers in Australlia.
And these IP seems suspicious, too.
Servers should be likely...not various.
I sent a mail to the community of Anet and haven't get their reply.
Could please any Anet staff confirm that these IPs are used by Guild Wars?
Otherwise my computer might be infected by spyware or something malicious...
Thanks very much in advanced.
Best Regards, Ceylon
Guild Wars Servers of Australia?...

Interesting....Maybe this would reduce our lag.
And these forums only occasionally have an Anet employee post on them

Probably how they are routing traffic from the old Taiwan servers into the American servers. Don't see why you should worry about it, so long as your client is clean and your firewalls are up.

Thanks very much for helping,
But these IPs in city Milton, Australia, really used by Guild Wars?
I've googled, but only a little information.
These IPs seems like "backup" servers.
I've redownloaded Gw.dat,
With "-image" ,my Gw.exe sometimes connects to US(216), sometimes European(206), sometimes Korea(222).
Sometimes connects to these IPs.
I guess it's depending on the traffic.
I still can't sure it's security using these unfamiliar servers that seldom used by westner players.
Also I haven't got the response from [email protected].
anyway, thanks a lot again for replying.

Excuse me for bumping.
I re-searched these IPs found they're managed by Australlia, but the location is various.
210.254.104.4(42) and 202.47.29.157(158) seems located in Japan, but the register is a Korean.
211.15.42.172 located in Japan, too.
Please some Ladies or Sirs of Anet's Staff confirm that these IPs REALLY used by GW.
3 various IP range does not seems like a normal server used by game, just like malicious rootkit or hacked client would connect with.
Really worries about this...
Apologize if annoied.
Thanks in advanced.
