Ursan vs Volfen
Action Jacson
Today I was looking at all 3 blessings, and I noticed that Volfen is almost as strong as Ursan, and is a bit more effective too.
Here for your comparison is all the factors of the two spirits with rank 10 norn.
Ursan
+20 Armor
+200 Max. Health
150 Dmg
135 Dmg +Kd 2 sec.
Weakness for 5 sec.
Damage Buff 5
+ Damage for attack 15
33% faster for 14 seconds.
All around good. But let us look at Volfen
+4 Health Regeneration
+100 Max. Health
Deep-Wound 5 sec.
Damage 60
Run 33% faster for 20 sec. then 100 Dmg to foes.
7 sec. team ias 33%
All Skills Recharge 66% Faster.
So as i can see with Volfen can keep the team's attack speed all most a constant 33% faster until he/she runs out of energy...thats something that everyone can agree on...
So I'm not saying Volfen is better than Ursan, I'm just saying "give it a chance?" Ursan and Volfen working together = pwnage, and we can all forget about the retarded Raven brother.

The power of ursan is that it deals big damage. There's no comparison.

Don't you mean that the power of ursan is that all the red dots are constantly knocked down so you're basically fighting against target dummies that can't hit back?

Ursan isn't just huge offense (the other two blessings have good offense too) it also provides stellar defense with it's inhert +armor, and passive shutdown/damage migation with KD spam and weakness.
If ursan were nothing but the damage, it'd get torn to shreds in its current application and no one would give it a second gance.
And to the OP, blessing damge comes from blessing skills, not auto attack damage, so the 33% IAS realy only benefits those using a zealous weapon.

Haha, that just made me laugh.
As for the comparison, it doesn't matter, Ursan is just more accepted because everyone is doing it. I feel that if those first Ursan pioneers (if they can be called pioneers lol) decided on Raven, according to you everyone would just be sitting in DOA spamming "R10 Retarded Brother LFG"
My point is to me all these skills are the same, I doubt there really is that much of a considerable difference between R10 Ursan/Volfen/Raven group of 8

Volfen is much more impressive when it's supporting characters that do real damage with their attacks. IE they have attack skills instead of Ursan touch skills. The trouble there too though is most melee builds bring their own IAS, and it's yet to be demonstrated what advantages they could squeeze out of a volf doing that job for them.
Raven can do decent AoE, but only has blind for emergency shutdown, and not much else. Ursans have occasional AoE on top of incredible single-target spam.
Still if you want to play around with volfen, try using a ranger with a low-level QZ spirit. Set up the spirit, go wolf form, and activate the volven agility. With a decent rank (and maybe an enchanting mod) the agility should recharge before it ends, allowing you to activate it while under agility... which lets you keep it up endlessly from there on.

I have made test on the damage master
Ursan and Volfen kill at the same speed but wolven does less average damage.
Raven is below.
As someone state, the problem come from the KD with AoE + Weakness that just make foes unable to fight (especially contact does no damage due to weakness and armor). Something you do not have with Volfen.
Though we might think that Ursan in better ungainst contact and Wolven is better against ennemy that give degeneration (but again Ursan can interrupt them...).
Though, my groups have succeeded by using a Volfen within a ursan group.

Volfen is l337sauce when you use the +33% IAS to buff bone fiend groups. Otherwise Ursan wins, because enemies on their backs can't hurt you.

Raven is actually not bad. 100 AL ignoring damage at range? Yes please. Constant Blind, along with constant anti-KD. I like my chances.

Sure Ursan provides defense, but no one cares when you have consumables. It's big damage that gets people through farm zones faster.
Yuhe Ji
I think it would be useful if in a group of 6 ursan and 2 monks, one of those ursan went volfen, but definitely not all 6. Constant knockdowns = godliness = needs a nerf (but let's not go there).

Not so much the damage being great really, good teams can generally equal or even surpass ursan damage. Its that ursans can just laugh in the face of all conditions and hexes where as a normal team would have to bring other skills to counter the hexes/conditions. Also, ursans seriously need the knockdown in places like DoA, even with consumables.

In terms of blessings, Bears eat Wolves.
If they raped the KD on Ursan, then things will be a little more in perspective.

Ursan is still > Volfen. Volfen is pretty useful though in non ursan groups, where you have warriors, assassins, dervs, etc... for that increased IAS on their weps. Really helpful to support SY melee chars
Cosmic Error
I like to use Volfen blessing, since it's faster, and does reasonable damage.
...
Actually, I just use it to be different from everyone else.

It is nice to use a volfen in a party with 5 ursans + 1 volfen + 2 HB monks, if and only if, you are not using cons. Cons give 25% IAS, so u miss out on like 9% but its not worth losing the dmg + KD + armor + health. In a normal group without cons it definitely helps form my experience.
