Me and my friends were doing a fissure run recently, and we got to wondering, where is the fissure on the map? You can see the sun so its not underground. Another question that we had is the level 2 ranger, the hunter guy. How did he get down there seeing as you cannot ascend at level 2?

Isn't the Fissure of Woe in the Mists? It's a realm of the gods isn't it? The Mists don't seem to have regular rules; just as the Realm of Torment and Underworld are always in the dark, I guess FoW has constant sunlight? In short, it's not on the map because it's in the mists, just like the Hall of Heroes. As for the ranger? Who knows... maybe he was born there :P

Back in the day when you'd try to check your map, you'd be shown in the Ring of Fire islands.

The Mists are more of a Universe than a seperate realm. Like a huge universe that houses all those realms. There are many instances where low levels appear in impossible to reach areas. I'm going to guess that it was Anets own intentional joke that a level 2 Ranger challenges a team of 8 lvl 20s to hunt wolves because he thinks your weaker than him.

Oh come on. You KNOW us Rangers just totally win.

Still yeah. I don't like that guy. Sometimes I wish we could just have the tiniest and cutest looking female monk pick up a high-req sword and then hit 3's on him until he drops.

No its in the Rift. Unless you are reffering to the map which isnt even counted lorewise anyway due to the Fissure of Woe not having a huge map therefore the game shows the default core map.

No the FoW and Battle Ilse are completely different. The only connection between them is their inhabitants worship Balthazar.

I always assumed the FoW was associated with beneath the fire island chain.
