Hi,

so as some know the Crystal desert leans next to the Desolation as seen in the crystal overlook
but where does Cantha lie from those two continents?
will it lie above of Tyria or under Elona?

They couldnt invade through the desolation but we dont know whats inbetween Ascalon and Vabbi yet.

That map you posted, while interesting is still not the official thing. So all i'm saying is there could be ways for living things to travel into Elona via the mountains without being killed by the Desolation.

Well the gw hadnbooks say that cantha traded with the -Northern- continent of tyria, so im guessing cantha is down south by sea...

-edit- just looked at the map and see that it shows what I just said ><

Tyria is above Elona. Elona is above the Zaishen Isles. Zaishen Isles is above Cantha. You get the idea.

Isnt Elona directly north of Cantha? Why wouldnt Cantha trade with Elona? And how would they make it to tyria?

Especially considering the vast wealth of Vabbi which is the most affluent of all the nations in the game. If there would be someone, anyone, you'd want to do business with, it would be Vabbians.

And that would necessitate heavy trading with Kourna as Vabbi is land locked and would rely on Kournan ports for importing and exporting their goods.

So yes, it does seem really odd that the Canthans would just skip over Elona somehow especially when Elona is more easily accessible, safer, and much closer.

I'm guessing the storyline writers didn't really incorporate practical trade relations and patterns when concocting canon lore.

In 221 AE, according to the Guild Wars Timeline on the official wiki, Cantha opened up trading with Elona, Tyria, and the Northern Areas. So they didnt skip Elona they gladly traded with them, But they did however send an Ambassador to Tyria in 100 BE.
