Hello all,
I recently got Guild Wars, installed it, created my account and Character so now I go to play and it comes up with the loading screen, and it gets too 100% and nothing happens for ages.... and by ages I mean I have left it 9 hours and nothing has happened...
So can anyone help me?

Does your computer meet the minimal requirements to run guildwars and what speed is your Internet connection?
Naylyn
So you have been able to play guildwars before? Have you tried reinstalling? It could be a corrupted dat file.
DarkIain
Yeah my computer is at the recommended requirements apart from my video card which is in between... Also I just updated to DirectX 10 (Because I didn't know what version I had) and I hear the Guild Wars music and then my computer seems to freeze...
And my internet is one of the best in Australia it is a Cable 100mbs wireless router and that it what it gives me...

GaaaaaH
what about closing down the program and restarting?
DarkIain
I have tried that... Like 5 times as well as Re-Installing it about 3 times as well

Okay not sure if this will actually help, but if you don't have any better options it is worth a try. Delete the gw.dat file, no need to reinstall, then run gw with the -image switch and let it download it that way. Assuming that you haven't done so already it is also worth defragging the HDD that u have GW on.

post your exact system specs. otherwise we'll just be throwing darts in the dark and hope it hits.

Yep i agree there with ya moriz i can't give advice on what to do to fix the problems untill i know the system specs

I also don't see how you can run directx10 if your video card is in between.

And therein may lie the problem. I think I recall other people having problems running games with DirectX 10, especially if your video card is not a Dx10 compatible card. Unless you have just recently bought or built your system, and spent a small mint on video card and such, I doubt that you have a Dx10 card, but hey! you may have.
If you could play GW (or any other game written in the not-too-distant past) and can't now after installing Dx10, that could be the problem.
BTW, have you tried other games, either online only or otherwise, to see if the problem is just with GW? That may help...

unless you are running windows vista you should not have direct x 10 installed. for windows xp you need direct x 9.0c.
