Very cool info!

Not everyone here has 'been there done that', some folks like myself are still inexperienced and would like to see more info like this, and less troll activity.

Thank you, I appreciate your time.

At the risk of further "I knew that, fool" trolling...

I was loading, modifying and saving some templates and noticed the message displayed when you save a template was prefixed with '\'. So I decided to try saving a template with another '\' in it with the hope of being able to nicely order my builds by subdirectory because up to now, I didn't know you could. And it works.

Save a build as 'Monk\HB Healer' and it creates a sub folder called Monk with HB Healer in it. Wish I'd known that when I first started saving templates

Alternatively, use Windows Explorer to make your folders and move builds around

Dont think its been mentioned but its pretty well known and mose useful for runners but here it is:
Granite Citadel -> Exit to Spearhead Peak
Outside there is the large group of summit then a few seconds up the hill another large group of summit/southern shiverpeak foes, well if you run in and out of the Citadel eventually a group of Dwarves well spawn or may spawn the first time and the first group of foes wont be there. Helpful possibly for vanquishing.
As I said its pretty well known but I'm sure some people wont know.

That's bloody brilliant! Question though, do the templates show up on your in game list as little folders afterwards? Like before you would have opened it up and it would have said "HB Healer", so would it now have a little folder marked "Monk" with all your other monk templates in it?

Ahh hell, Ima go try it myself. I have no patience at all!

Thanx again for the tip!

I have all 4 games on 1 account, which means 8 char slots...which means I don't have a paragon or a ranger(should've made that SY paragon!!!) So I'm thinking of "wasting" $20 on 2 more slots to make them...and since I never thought about survivor title before, I do appreciate you listing it in such detail...

did you know that when out farming or anything in Eye of the North, you talk to the norm / asura / ascalon refugee at the shrine, and get the reward points, i usually do this talk to first one and when you reach max rewards point i think its 100, only then talk to the npc and you get 100 each, instead of say , 40, 60 just a tiny bit different. unless off course you did not kill everything then this is not for you, but I usually do kill everything even when I am not vanquishing.

Mine was too. To improve Phineas' idea a bit and really make it easy...go in to your Templates folder, make folders for each profession and then make sub folders. For example, in the Ele folder I made one for each of the elements, Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Warrior was hammer, sword, etc. It's a lot of clicking when you're looking for a build, but it is easier to find your specific builds. You can also change the names of the builds.

i have a secret.

1. take a hero party out and flag them near a gate. make sure one of the heros have a rez

2. go on your farming / chest run

3. if you die. just flag ALL your heros back thru the gate.

4. all heros teleport to your location.

5. remember to unflag heros after they teleport to you.

Don't know if anyone know this,

You must take the Spear of Archemorus with you on this mission if you are the only player running a H/H team, it is very powerful for this mission, it will allow you to complete the mission in as little as 13 minutes normal mode, tested it several times so i think I can say its full-proof, but not idiot proof :P~ so look at your mini map the circular ones for mob.

What do you do,

Take the spears hold it until its level 5 while you kill mobs, place your mouse over the spear of archemorus icon on the top left hand corner, so you know as soon as it reaches level 5, or you have to be observant and and look out the side of your eyes for the animation when it changes level and count it. Locate your enemy group, use it on big mob, charge into them, drop the spears then use your normal skills to fight, it'll be over in a jiffy.

As soon as you can pick up the Spears of Archemorus again, pick it up, lol so you may recharge it to level 5 until you reach the next big mob. meanwhile go ahead and kill next mob before the spears is charge again, also, keep in mind that you DO NOT have to kill every enemy to shut down the portal, once portal is shut down, you must run away and proceed to the next one. The foes here do not chase you too far out of their station.

Remember not to use the spears for the last portal, because as soon as the cinematic ends the first boss will come at you, so keep the level 5 charged spears for it.

Good luck Have Fun. will try this in HM and see what are the results.

I am doing explanation for the below because I've been doing this the last week, and have encounter several group that absolutely won't understand what you try to tell them, which is, kill fast, pull mob apart, leave when bound souls are release, leave, the mob does not chase you for too far with one exception, only with this method will you be able to achieve the time for master rewards, if there are other ways please tell me, thanks.

Tahnnakai Temple - Room Analysis (normal mode)

First Room - Bound Kitah - Mesmer Boss

First 2 Temple Guardians will not attack you unless provoke, to save time, you can skip them if you are good at pulling or mobbing the next group of enemy, kill a few of the afflicted rangers, I've found that you do not always need to kill the 2xmonks and 2x Ritualist first, as getting rid of a few afflicted angers first is far easier then trying to run pass these rangers, gets kill, party wipe, everyone rage quit :P. so please consider killing a few of the rangers, bring aoe skills as they tend to cluster together, after you narrow down the numbers of afflicted rangers go for the healers, the afflicted ritualist and afflicted monks. You'll need to kill the next two Temple Guardians as they are standing right in the door way.

If you know you cannot bypass the first 2 Temple Guardians, please don't bother, kill everything.

Second Room - Bound Naku - Necromancer boss

You will encounter a very tightly position, side by side, groups of mobs, in front of you, to your right and to your left. Choose 2 sides to kill, actually you get to choose one side, as you have to clear the center by default cos the bound soul is there, the recommended side is the left side, Why? Because clearing the left side will clear the way to the next door for the released soul. If you kill the mob on the right hand side, you will be able to pull Bound Nuku from across the "moat" without aggroing all the Temple Guardians, takes considerable skill to control your h/h here, so i still recommend clearing the left hand side mob and leave the right hand side mob be. Once you kill Bound Naku, the release souls will run to the door using the left hand side passage, it will stop and waste around 30 seconds time before the mob move away if the left hand side passage is not clear, but, yes, they will move away, so don't bother killing them unless stupid Togo and Mhenlo did no follow you, which is very unlikely. as they always follow.

Note:
1) if you clear the right hand side, the chances of the release soul getting stuck near the left hand side passage with the mob still there is considerably higher. Yes, so clearing the left hand side is always better in this room.

2) after taking down the temple guardian and bound nuku, you will want to get the afflicted elementalist to the left first, as they cause the most dp in this group.

3) keep an eye on your minions, the minions will easilly aggro, but if they do aggro, look for the release souls, togo and mhenlo, if already at the door and following you, then please leave the minions behind, time is the factor to get master reward here.

Room 3 - Bound Teinai - Elementalist Boss

This lady likes to touch, so my advise leave her for last. If you are not failiar with this mission do A.

A. 1) on entering this room, place your h/h near the left hand side walls as this will created a situation where the mobs are collected at the corner where you can later, when they do, aoe them.

A 2) how to pull? Run to the edge of the wall where the mobs are gather below. You dont have to do anything, just stand there then run back, that will trigger the mob to run towards you.

A 3) now aoe the mob at the corner, should be done in no time, watch out for a afflicted necromancer and 2x warrior coming from the right hand side.

A 4) when you are done killing those mob, you will usually be left with 1x afflicted monk 1x bound tenai don't bother killing the monk, go for tenai or your warrior hench will surely die, remember she likes to touch, (bring an interrupt hero, i have gwen) also if you all charge Tenai, the monk will follow and they will be cluster together making it a kill 2 birds with one stones strategy (aoe)

B 1) if you are very good at this mission you probably won't be reading this, if you are, try B which is this, :P it save you time of killing 4x afflicted. and its a lot of fun. (do this only if you are familiar with this mission or can drop the whole mob in record time)

B 2) what do you do? You run for the exit to the next room, the door that tenai is going to open. Run towards it as soon as you enter this room hugging the right hand side wall. You must run very fast, why, because we want to ditch one part of the mob x4 afflicted approximately.

B 3) Runing towards the next exit will trigger the mob to run out from where they are and towards you, if you run slow, the whole mob will come towards you, if you run fast, you will ditch x4 afflicted who will run towards the entrance door of this room.

B 4) Fight near the exit door, kill the mob fast, yihar! lol, its extremely fun when you kill them all, go for Tenai and the monk first in the B scenario.

Do not attempt this with pug, you will be called a noob :P

Room 4 - Bound Karei - Monk Boss

Remember the "don't have to kill everything theory" for this mission, on entering this room, run towards the gate exiting the next room, hugging your right hand side wall, now, hit \ on your keyboard, for target closest enemy, it will target the Temple Guardian closest to you, pull it, this will aggro either 2 or 3 Temple Guardians. with your interrupt h/h you should have no problem. kill them, now pull the ranger or necromancer depending on who's standing closest to you. This will pull around 2 rangers and 2 necromancers, sometime an afflicted monk too, bring them all down. this should clear the way for you to pull Bound Karei, patient is the key word here, he can be pull, try to interrupt his Spell Shield, bring him down, soul released, done, don't have to aggro the rest. Proceed to the next room. Flagging your H/H in this room is vital, to weather you have to annihilate the whole room or just those I mention.

Room 5 - Bound Jaizhanju - Warrior Boss

In this room you have to kill everything. Step by step and you'll be fine and not get spiked to death by the big headed afflicted elementalists. Remember you have the advantage of height, you are on a flight of stairs before pulling. Flag your H/H on the stair, can't do anything with togo and mhenlo thou, but they don't die that easily, just annoyingly follow you every step.

You will see 3 groups of mobs, one mob each guarding each exit to the next room. and the mob with the warrior boss. So, who do you pull first?

Not the closest one :P yes, you heard me right (afflicted mob guarding right hand side door), not the closest one. why? because if you pull them and you are unlucky (this is around 80% of the time) they will trigger and pull the mob in the center as well, and what have you in the center mob? BIG HEADED ELEMENTALISTS!

So. you pull the center mob first, look for the right time, there are 2 group to pull apart, one the warriors the other the big headed elementalists. and this will not trigger the mob guarding the right hand side door, yeap it won't as long as your aggro circle don't touch them. H/H control is vital here as well, infact through out the mission.

Pull the afflicted warrior away from the center mob, this will bring the afflicted warriors + one afflicted monk usually, if unlucky sometime also one or 2 afflicted elementalists. Remember your height advantage, flag your healer in range to heal you but not in range to get spike by the ele, if you pull the whole lot, you can very well resign, lol, this is the room where you don't run, because THEY WILL CHASE YOU (i think this is in HM, NM they dont' chase you) to no end! kill off the first aggro. Pull the next, big headed afflicted elementalists, the afflicted monks and afflicted mesmers, bring them down, go for the boss, then the last 2 monks behind the stone pedestal.

Note:
Sometime Bound Jaizhanju will mob you as well, however, if the big headed afflicted elementalist are gotten rid of, don't run, running will disable H/H monk in healing, why because they are running, :P and its almost always party wipe if you run.

Now that the soul is released, what do you do? you get rid of all the other afflicted in this room, WHY? BECAUSE if you don't they will mob you into the next room. so you clear the room, run to the right hand side door to trigger the opening of the door by the released soul, BUT you enter the next room from the left, LEFT I SAID hand side door. WHY? because you will have advantage here of not having to kill 2x Temple Guardians and 1 x afflicted Ritualist.

Room 6 - Bound Zojun - Ranger Boss

Assuming you have taken up my advise and enter from the left hand side room, now how do you pull, you don, flag your H/H near the stair. Run hugging left hand side wall until you see 1 allficted ranger and 2 afflicted warrios running towards you, this is the time to run back, they will follwo, hug left hand side wall, and watch togo and mhenlo. kill them fast, before the temple guardia suspects anything adn come to the rescue, at this time you want your h/h to be standing hugging the right hand side wall to make the mob cluster at the corner so you can aoe them. and i don't mean one flag, use all flags available, so your h/h isn't cluster as the Temple Guardia can also use aoe skills. this room is quite easy, straight forward after that go for the boss, proceed to next room.

Room 7 - Bound Kaolai - Ritualist Boss

Good luck

I have not quit master the trick to this room yet. But careful pulling is a must, I try using a shadow form heros to pull , does work quite well if I can say so myself.

oh, don't have to kill the monk first either, kill what ever comes closest to you and bring them down fast! getting rid of a few of the afflicted elementalist is vital. narrow down the numbers then go for the healers!

Room 8 - Bound Vizu - Assassin Boss

looks hard , but its quite easy,

Kill going clock wise x4 afflicted rangers and x 4 Temple Guardians, use that bridge to start your attack. Flag your H/H. One on each side of the bridge (the castors) Flag the warrior hero to pull. Important to stay back with Togo and Mhenlo, (do not pull here yourself as togo and mhenlo dies very fast if they cannot get away from the mob) with your aggro circle right at the edge, your side of the bridge. Send in your H/H to pull, look at the aggro circle, as soon as the red dots react, flag your h/h back, where? place the flag right at the aggro circle.

This will bring the afflicted warrios and Bound Vizu, some afflicted Rangers, sometime an afflicted monks, if the afflicted monk is pulled, bring it down, meaning you have to keep looking, tab tab to see whats around, bring them down fast. Pull some more bring those down, THEN you can CAHRGEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!! the rest are most likely 1x ele 1x mesmer and 1x ritualist, AND YOUR DONE, that should take just about under 20 minutes. Shorter then it took me to type this out

Note:
It is quite often that the afflicted ritualist will be pull together with the monk. but if they are pull to your side of the bridge its not so bad, don't fight on the bridge, you'll not make the time. So check, use the tab, i think the afflicted uses Flesh of my flesh, if not mistaken, so stay alert.

:P enjoy.

How do I know all that you might ask, capturing all the elite skills there with 6 x characters that's how many time I've done that mission at least and more later lol :P
