Status report: Hammers

For long time i though that green hammers with 20/20 15^50 30hp are overly rare (as in, nonexistent), but ever since faction times devs fixed that and they were dropping left and right from anything that looks even remotely warriory:

And now we got Deldrimor Maul, brand new unique hammer with surprising stats: 20/20 15^50 +30HP. Ninth one in fact

I hereby dare (double dare in fact) developers add yet another 20/20 15^50 +30HP green hammer. Don't be mislead, I would actually love it because after that there would be 10 such hammers, enough to outfit Gorens on all my character with different unique hammers yet with uniform stats.

Make it Mursaat Hammer skin, please. That one is really missing.

(Fine print: this is supposed to be humorous, sorry for fail. I actually like it that actually good features from later chapters are backported to prophecies. However, amount of theese green hammers is ridiculous.)

Assuming you're using hammer heroes for that new Earth Shaker/Yeti Smash fad, I would think that Furious would easily beat out Sundering. Why are you equipping your Gorens with trash?

i put hammers on my goren heroes as well cause i never use him, but need a nice storage slot for a hammer =)

Earth Shaker/Yet Smash is new? I must be living in a temporal flux.

It's a fad among certain people who have their noses too high in the air to use Ursan, but can't live without clockwork AoE knockdowns.

Why aren't there any furios bow strings?

Well, there is furious daggers prefix for example, Bows miss one. This is not that thread thou. (edit: i stand corrected on scythes)

Anyhow, list of 10% Furious/ 15^50 / 30 green hammers is very skinny:

Mallyx's Maul, Victos Maul, Maul of the Hierophant.

Which is no biggie since anyone with prophecies can produce perfect furious prefixes for hammer at rate of ~3-4 per hour.

There are only two perfect Vampiric Hammer greens, a bit more alarming.

20/20 hammers make 2/3rd of "worth looking into" hammers. Even more alarming.

And worst shocker is, of course, like with all the greens, there is no +5 ar version.

The classic debate is between Sundering and Vampiric, not Sundering and Furious. Sundering is just trash, full stop.

There's also a half one - the Sundering Rhino's Charge from the GotY /bonus set. It doesn't have the +30 HP, but it can accept a suffix so it's not hard hard to correct.

It's a problem with all physical weapons, not just hammers. Go through the EotN green weapon list and virtually all will have at least two of those three mods (sundering, fortitude, 15>50).

I kind of miss those odd Sorrow's Furnace greens, with weird mods like Shocking and Shelter. Sure, a lot of people would prefer something different, but at least they're unique.

I don't see what other mods you would really want on a hammer anyway, those mods are the best for them. Axe and sword are a little different of course though.

I'm not supper hapy with the endgame greens as of late, no variety.

And I agree, I'd like to see somethings witha +5 AR or +7 Vs X.

I guess ANet is going for a "Make the majority happy" approach, which makes sense in the long run, instead of creating truly "rare" weapons that could/would be held onto as a collectable.

As it is this far into the life of the game I'm pretty damned fully outfitted, so I just go in and grab what looks nice knowing I'll never use it and yeah, maybe chuck it onto a Hero.

Sure their are people getting to the end of games on new accounts for the first time ever, but come on, the same stats on everything in every end game? Meh, I'll go back and do Hell's someday but I'm in no hurry.

HOWEVER, I do thank ANet for the new content rather nice of them to add something at no cost to me.

But lol, seriously Furious is better than Sundering... More earthshakers + more aoe > a bit stronger auto-attacking by a low chance.

I much prefer the skins of the PvP hammers and like the one Devona uses.
