Why does GW Guru have to have annoying Popup ads on the site now ?

I never had so much trouble with getting malware loaded on my comp as I have recently with all the popups on guru

I noticed butt-loads of popups when I was signed out of my account, but as soon as I logged in they all disapeared.

Quite frankly, if the OP is getting shitloads of malware installed then they're doing something wrong somewhere because I, and countless others, don't have any sort of problem.

well, first, i've never had a GWG popup.

but, if you do, wouldn't the obvious thing to do be to run Spybot S&D and Adaware once a day?

besides, i'm willing to bet the popups are a result of sloppy surfing habits, and pre-existing spyware on your computer.

Yea it's pretty bad if you aren't logged in. Thank god Kaspersky takes care of it though.

You shouldn't get pop-ups when you are logged in. Set Guru to remember you and you will auto login.

If you are logged in and still getting pop-ups, the Site Feedback is the place to report it. Somewhere like http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10270701 for example. Inde will probably read this anyway, but it's always good to post in the right location.

I use adaware to remove the malware that it finds. Apparently the site forgot me and didn't log me in automatically recently. I thought maybe the malware could have possibly come from another site , so I specifically didn't go anywhere else between the times I used Adaware, only visited GWG. It loaded the same malware, but it was when i wasn't logged in to the site.
I am sure its an excellent way to get new members by bombarding them with popups because they aren't logged in, throw out the First Impression Theory ...

GWG doesn't have malware, and to the best of my knowledge, never has. Maybe you are thinking of GWO, as they have had trojans and tracking cookies.
