They're not gaming cards. They're mostly made for office computers and HTPC (Home Theater PCs) and are garbage for gaming.

Note the cheap price.

Well, I wouldn't say that it was good for gaming, but for every day use it would suffice. It would suffice fine in Guild Wars too, but the 8600 is much much better and would out perform the 8500 by a long shot.

Like the others i too will say the 8500 isn't meant for games. It's nothing but an exact copy of an 8400 except with a 128-bit memory bus. The 8600 is much better.

bump up to a 8600 or go with ATi's cheap solution the HD3800 series I think, strong price/performance ratio.

8600 is much better, 8500 isn't a good gaming card.

The 8600 is pretty much a poor excuse for a mid-range card. Nvidia tried to enter the mid-range market with the 8600, but it's very mediocre. If you want to go for a ~100 dollar card, save up a bit more and get an ATI HD3850; solid card with a low wattage, so you probably won't need to upgrade your PSU.

Although I personally don't have a 3850 (Yay 6600GT), many of my friends are very pleased with it .. as they couldn't afford the ~250 dollar 8800GT .. but if you can afford a 8800GT go for them, they're beasts for the price.

The 8500 would do just fine for GW.

If you plan to play more modern games though and you don't want to spend much money, go for an 8600 which is a mainstream, "adequate" economy gaming card.
