Ascalon Arena Question

I am currently at lvl 10 and wish to explore the Ascalon arena, however, for some reason I am continually placed at the same location on the map instead of being placed on the other side of the map during the fight. Are there any reasons to being put in the same spot all the time? Or am I just unlucky?

I believe that both sides of the map look the same. If I'm incorrect, somebody could correct me.

Explore? What's there to explore. Both sides are mirrored to eachother. You're question is a little confusing...
