No there aren't. You fail at damage control as much as our CR. The earliest ANYONE can get a 3rd year minipet NORMALLY is 24 hours BEFORE the 3rd year anniversary (which is 28th April). Last I check it's still 26th or 25th in USA.

Wow, this guy is clueless. He reckons Gaile's frog is actually a proper minipet, as opposed to what it really is, a gift for Gaile for the work she did in CR. Credibility = 0.

One flaw in that comparison. McDonalds STAFF get STAFF discount.

ZoS are not Anet staff.

They are upset because though its a useless item, people sell them, and selling one this much earlier nets a few hundred more ectos. That's not minuscule.

The first person obviously gets A LOT more money out of selling theirs. Their are a few buyers out there who would (and one did) pay a TON to get a new minipet just a few days early.

The point is, getting the minipets early mean you get FAR more gold from selling them than if you got them on the actual release date, as there will only be a couple minipets in the game, as opposed to thousands. It's ZoS getting given free gold. Again.

People aren't mad because they can't get one, they're mad because of the principle of the whole thing. Normal players who do not deserve to get unreleased items are getting treated special for being in a guild with devs in it, which is a kick in the face to everyone else in the Guild Wars community.

the fact remains that on the official guildwars.com website, it states:

And the fact that ZoS members are the ONLY nondev members in the game with the new minis before the release date, it certainly points towards the fact that they are getting special treatment due to their connections.

Because anet have made in no different than if ZoS had Ebayed gold (except without the payment). Early pets = max prices just like the first new weapons found go for outrageous amounts. The difference being that everyone has a chance to get the new weapons....

What everyone said above. To that I'll add one thing I just don't get: why is everyone in ZoS or defending them in this thread so absolutely clueless? It just looks bad. Cant say if there is preferential treatment or not, but everything said certainly makes it seem like a futile effort to hide the fact. Really you shouldnt defend yourself vocally if doing so makes things look worse.

These people do get rewards. They get 3rd year mini pets to sell for a massive amount of money once a year. They don't deserve to get them early though.

Imo, its not really about other players getting 'ecto/plat' or 'i have collector mini for free', its just the fact that the integrity of the way they do things are really called into question when things like this happen.

A dumb explanation like: "oh, it was a 'bug'" or "random ppl with accounts created during E3 will get the minis early" doesnt cut it.

The fact that there was an official statement that nobody gets minis before april 28th and there are comments from ppl slightly involved saying that "they're popping up everywhere" is just freaking stupid.

So the ZoS members who have one, either you HAX, your a DEV, or ANET is really going back on their words. And im pretty sure your not a dev.

The remaining 2 possiblities either mean
1) you cheat
2) anet favors
3) anet needs to apologize
4) anet needs to quietly modify their website article xD

or any combination of the above

The white mini was sold for 175e. When the white minis are released on Monday they won't sell for more than 100k.
