Can't get to Unwaking waters (Luxon side)

I've completed the Unwaking Waters mission on the Kurzick side and got to the Harvest temple. I want to get to Unwaking Waters on the Luxon side and thus get to Leviathan pits, but the door is shut and the guy there won't speak to me. He has before with my other chars. I know you can also do this by completing Gayla Hatchery but that's the hardest mission in all of Guild wars and impossible for me to complete.

You don't need to do both of the Unwaking Waters for the title, if that's what you're trying to do, and Gyala is easy, just go around there is a guide on how to do it in the wiki:

You'll need to go through the quest path on the Luxon side, including Gayla Hatchery. Gala Hatchery is certainly not the hardest mission in GW. Refer to this:

and try the "Careful Pulling Strategy" (as they call it.)

yes to get to the other side you must do the quests for the other side...you cant just walk in from the 'end' so to speak.

I've got 2 chars to the leviathan pits WITHOUT having to do gayla hatchery so unless something changed my ranger should be able to as well. The wiki still says it can be done that way so maybe Anet messed something up with an update. As for as Gayla Hatchery goes it's impossible with only H&H so that route is out for me.

edit- Just checked quest log and still have the "Befriending the Luxons" quest. That's probably the problem. Thanks for the replies.

Yeah you're on the right track with the Befriending the Luxon quest. Finish that and then you can talk to the NPC in outside of the Waking Waters outpost. Just make sure that your Luxon faction is higher than your Kurzick and he'll let you right in. From there you can go backwards and get all the outposts.

Don't count yourself short. I have completed Gyala Hatchery on 3 characters using hero/hench, and done it in HM on one of them even. In fact, one of them did it before Nightfall was released, so I did it with hench only.
