loading screen/dl rates

okay i'm gonna make this quick because many of my friends and i are thoroughly frustrated by the immense amount of loading time GW takes. every time we install, we have to rewait the endless amount of time that GW needs to redl the maps. the thing that is MOST frustrating is that we can ONLY download through the game...this and the rates downloading OFTEN OFTEN fluctuate....i was hoping that maybe the maps/missions could be thrown as a seperate batch file that can be downloaded seperately...that would jus end the horde of frustration.thanks

Change the shortcut destination from "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" or whatever you may have it be to "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -image". Next time you run the shortcut it will download every file available, this will no doubt take some time so leave it running when you have the spare time. Then just change the shortcut back to what it originally was and it will load the game and you shouldn't have to download anything else.

And, if you're re-installing, consider, burning the resultant gw.dat file, after the above process, onto a dvd.
U'll still need to dl occasionally, but shouldn't be as much

GW's streaming downloads are actually quite nice other than the initial download when you first start. Generally, updates happen in the background, and rarely interrupt you unless you go to a spot specifically effected from an update.
But yes, if you are constantly installing/reinstalling (why?), an image of the .dat file would be a recomendation.
