201 wins through synching is impressive in terms of endurance, maybe.
We did fight full groups of synchers multiple times. No matter how good your team is, fatigue starts to kick in at around 80 wins, and you will play games 5v6 and 4v6 while people take turns eating/bathroom breaks/laundry. I personally ate 3 times and did two loads of laundry during this run.

We did have a pug for about 50 games. Around 160 one of our players fell asleep for a few rounds before we noticed.

In case anyone missed them, screenshots:

Seriously, I'm more impressed with your stamina and internet connections more than anything.

Having said that, I do acknowledge that all of you are good DA players but sync teams just have an unfair advantage over random ones.

oh another cool stat thats 3 hours and 20 minutes of just load time between battles in the beginning (not including the timer after you win)

Those would be the periods when I fiddled with my Rubix cube.

'Grats to you guys on getting that. I remember I was standing there trying to figure out the Vent info right when you guys got in. I wouldn't have made it to 201 though, because I had to be somewhere that night.

WTB Dragon Arena TA. This would be the true test of "skill wars". Since everyone runs the same build, you can't blame it on "build wars"!

Yes, that would be very fun

99% of the people posting on these forums would lose 10 times out of 10 in a 1v1 against anybody on that team.

There may not be a very strong correlation between DA skill and GvG skill, but at least one is present, unlike AB or HB.

I take it you did this on the american or european server, because the playing level is much lower there.

I played about 200 games this weekend (max streak of 57) and all of them out of asian districts, and i was completely suprised by the playing level there. Especially during european afternoons there were just no bad players around and it was only good players and synching groups. I noticed that (especially today) near the european evening quality of groups started to drop dramatically but still you'd face the occasional very good group.

I've had about 2 dozens of matches that didn't feature ANY bad player on either side and were extremely close. I must say i've never enjoyed dragon arena as much as i have this weekend.

Another awesome thing I experienced was that there was a small community forming of all the good players in asian districts, this made the matchups that more intense and it was absolutely awesome. If i had more time and this had stayed a little longer i'm certain i would've made a lot of new friends.

Congratulations though on the 201 victories, its pretty amazing that you can keep yourself together for so long. At my 57win streak i went totally crazy after 50 victories and my playing level had already dropped dramatically. Then again i was totally fine after a 20minute break so i suppose if you switch people around it's fine.

I'd like to point out that this is exactly what i was thinking untill 3 days ago. It is still like that mostly on the native servers, but on asian this is absolutely not true. You'll face about 40% crap groups, 40% decent groups (with 3-4 good players), and 20% very good groups (only good or decent players). Beating the good groups easier said than done. Especially when exhaustion kicks in (and exhaustion+lag=bad) you really play at 50% or lower of your normal capabilities. So it gets very hard to fight a very good group while you're exhausted. You can beat them, but it's very hard to do so consistently. Then again, this streak was probably on american or european servers (or perhaps later on in the euronight when i noticed playing level was dramatically lower) so most of what im saying goes to waste.

we actually were all syncing from the asian districts. at one point we had 25 on vent, all active, plus a few people not on vent syncing. we were only in asian districts, none other.

Yeah I was actually getting annoyed by the syncing going on, I mean come on. It's a game. It's random. Play with who you get. I consider myself a pretty accomplished da player, I play with random pugs. My best is 37 consec. And it kinda sucks, as a random player, to finally get a couple good people on your team, only to have them all leave after you win the fight because it wasn't the synced team they were looking for.

Synching is the best thing ever if you synch yourself and in an environment where everyone else is synching themselves or a good player. And that's exactly what happened to me the past 3 days .

I think if your run lasts long enough, it doesn't matter where you join from. Our run lasted long enough that we played people around the world. Besides opponents having crazy circles and boxes for names, we fought plenty of european names as well.

Games where both sides are full of skilled players are the best. Not only is it the most fun, it helps improve your skills as a player more than simply playing a vast number of games.

Everyone in the team is a member of that small community. I have met most everyone there by playing against them, and anyone who gives us a hard time to play against in a game is welcome to come play with us any time.

While one of our main goals was to get a really high consecutive, we are really out to have fun. If the game stopped being fun, there is no way we would have been able to stick it out for so long. We tried to tell groups forming outside when our games were ending so they could sync against us, and we had a number of incredibly fun games result from it. During the second half of the run, I would like to think that the adrenaline from these games refreshed our more fatigued teammates.

A Dragon Arena TA ladder would be the most amazing thing ever. I can't think of a more pure and balanced form of PVP that GW could offer.

Skillz? Maybe... but when your skillz reach a certain level, it's all about your connection speed and luck.

6v6 would have some tactics involved in terms of positioning... 1v1s would be helluva boring game of dodging, shooting, dodging and more dodging... and it could probably go on forever until one person rubberbands and gets killed.

Back on topic, TA for DA would be awesome... though I doubt that would happen.

Luck is only a factor if your connection speed is bad or the server is lagging. Otherwise this game is entirely based on skill. In a 1v1 between two good players, they will never kill each other from maximum range. They will close the gap between them until one of them makes a mistake and dies. The closer they are the more intense it gets.

Lag affects everyone...some people just have it worse than others... so yes there are those who are luckier because they have superior connections.

As for 1v1, you can only fight in a close battle if your opponent wants it as well. But what I really wanted to say in my previous post is that 1v1 with 2 good players is going to be more based on their connection speeds and luck more than anything else.

1v1 in dragon arena is just as good a measure of skill as normal scrimmage 1v1 is for gvg. It's horrible, flawed in countless ways, and almost completely irrelevant to the actual game.

It happened to me quite often that someone's ego came up and wanted to 1v1 me. I flamed them back quite hard and shot them in the face. Anyone who thinks 1v1 is a measure of skill in dragon arena is retarded and already bad at the game .

Any situation other than a 1v1 in Dragon Arena amounts to field awareness and keeping track of other people's skill cooldowns. Granted, there are really only two to keep track of (Orb and Winds). These are elements present in every GvG, if at a vastly simplified level.

1v1 is almost entirely a matter of your ability to dodge projectiles at a close range. Against two good players it becomes as much of a mind game as it is in counting cooldowns. Of course, dodging projectiles has practically zero application in GvG outside of a split situation. And even that's a stretch.

A good GvG guild member is likely to be a good DA player. A good DA player with no GvG experience would be likely be terrible at GvG. Of course, nobody cares about how strong the correlation is between the two - DA is enjoyable not only because it's a simple diversion from the regular game types, but it's also the most balanced PvP format in this game.

13 hours...ok...I am not saying you should get a life, that is rude but you might want to reconsider the ones you have. I fail to find 13 hours in a row where no friends/girlfriend, family members or newly known people want to see me or do something outside (to clear that for you...outside as in outside the house...not outside town in an explorable area) let alone 13 hours that I have nothing better to do. And I am considering the last 10 years when I say that.

Still...good job on the endurance. It is pretty stupid, useless and you do look like complete nerds (especially because of the fact that you proudly start a thread to tell the world you played dodgeball for 13 hours) BUT...I have to respect your endurance. No clue how old you are, heard Lee is 14, so keep it up and show the same endurance in kindergarden, school or your future jobs.

That being said...please go outside and enjoy the weather.
