First of all Directsong support are non-existent, they don't reply to emails and their built in help system is useless and non specific.

Lucky I has a CE DS key, I can;t imagine throwing my money at them only to get the cold shoulder. I hope people read this if they are thinking about making a purchase from them in the future, I also hope Anet go with some other distribution service for GW2.

Anyway.

I've got the NF ds music downloaded and registered and followed both the support on ds site as well as searched on guru for solutions and tried multiple version of them (including rereg'ing the directories, redownloading, etc) but the icon in GW still displays the exclamation point.

I'm out of ideas and would like to get it working one day, any people out there who can throw some more options my way?

Since you have the NF music downloaded, you can play it in-game. Merely follow the directions in this guide for help.

The special extra stuff for you, is just name all your files and their pathing relative to the same as what you have in your .ds file.

i've already done that the paths and the file names are accurate

edit:

i added sorrows furnace and that works fine and play correctly. then added NF and it doesn't work, yet still sorrows furnace plays.

Noticed that in the SF directory there is an additional license.wma file that is not present in the NF directory don't know if that is making the difference.

No, it does not make a difference. As for thier support, you are correct, they are very good at resetting your allowable installations upon request. Now that you have Sorrow's Fur installed and working, I would advise deleting the NightFall installation, including the directory, and redownload and install all of the files. Once the installation is complete, you should need to enter your user name and password again. Be sure to let the little window play at least one song. If that does not work, you will need to delete your DRM folders and start over, at least Guild Wars will work that way. I am still trying to burn mine to audio CD!
