Snowman Dungeon HM HH <20 min runs
Risus
For those of you who don't know, the Secret Layer of the Snowmen is a very easy dungeon that is currently the ONLY source for unlimited party points, as well as other Wintersday consumables. It is also one of the best runs for Deldridmore Reputation Points.
I do this run with hero's and henchment (hence the HH) on Hard Mode, and, with practice, can make the run in about 10-12 minutes. They are all cold damage dealers, so elemental armor is a good choice (i.e. _____ weapon of Warding), and Fiery damage is also a nice damage booster, as they are weak to it.
I personally bring a team consisting of:
1 R/E - Conjure Flame Barrager (me)
2 E/Mo - Hero's with Savannah Heat build shown later
1 Mo/E - Spell Breaker protection monk
and the henchmen Lina, Mhenlo, Eve, and Cynn.
Builds:
R/E- [skill]Conjure Flame[/skill][skill]Fire storm[/skill][skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Drunken Master[/skill][skill]Sunspear Rebirth Signet[/skill]
The rest is optional. More fire AoE spells are optimal.
Weapon:
Fiery Longbow of Warding with a Damage +15% while in stance inscription
Attributes:
Fire Magic=12
Marksmanship=8+1+1
Expertise=10+2
E/Mo-[skill]Fire Attunement[/skill][skill]Glyph of Elemental Power[/skill][skill]Savannah Heat[/skill][skill]Teinai's Heat[/skill][skill]Searing Heat[/skill][skill]Breath of Fire[/skill][skill]Fire storm[/skill][skill]Resurrection Chant[/skill]
Weapon:
Insightful Fire Staff of Warding
Attributes:
Fire Magic=12+3+1
Energy Storage=9+1
Healing Prayers=9
Mo/E-[skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Spell Breaker[/skill][skill]Glyph of Swiftness[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Heaven's Delight[/skill][skill]Signet of Devotion[/skill][skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Shielding Hands[/skill]
Weapon:
Insightful Protective Staff of Enchanting
Attributes:
Protection Prayers=12+3+1
Divine Favor=10+1
Air Magic=4
Usage:
Upon entering the area, take the bounty from the Beacon of Droknar. When you see the Glittering Snowman, flag your heros in the arch, and have your monk cast Spell Breaker on you. Run up and tank the mobs. Once in combat with the Snowmen, unflag your heros. Cast Firestorm on the biggest group and Barrage away (make sure you have Conjure Flame on you). Repeat this process for the next group that comes. After dispatching with them, watch out for the 2 Mischevious Snowmen at the top of the ramp. They will roll giant snowballs that will kill anything in their path. The best way to avoid these is to hug the left wall. After killing these snowmen, flag your hero's onto the ice bridge. Don't worry about the ice darts, your monks can handle it. Kill all the Snowmen, then flag your heros right in front of the gate. Repeat the Spell Breaker process, but have your monk cast it right before you aggro all the Mischevious Snowmen on the opposite side of the bridge. Make sure he uses Glyph of Swiftness because you will need the fast recharge. Unflag your heros, then flag them back to their spot once all the snowmen are dead. Next, you will have to pull the Roguish Snowmen. Pull them with your bow, then stand just out of range of the Bustling Snowmen. Have your monk cast Spell Breaker on you before they can use Snow Down the Shirt on you (there is a bug which will occassionally make these snowmen spawn inside the wall. If this happens, just kill them with your fire spells). Dispatch of these, then talk to the Beacon of Droknar on the other side of the bridge. Kill the first 4 Bustling Snowmen, then flag your heros in between the Ice Geysers. Kill the next Snowmen, then flag your hero's to the right side of the tunnel near the Ice Dart machine. Kill all snowmen, then proceed to next room. Tank all groups until you get to the next Beacon of Droknar. You must kill the Angry Snowman to your left to collect the Dungeon Key. Just flag your heros out of the Ice Geysers, and pull reasonable groups. Next, kill the Industrial Snowman and Jack Frost first, then dispatch of the Pious Snowmen one at a time. Once dead, head left towards Freezie and the giant mob around him. Flag your heros a full compass away from Freezie. Go pull a mob of Rotund Snowmen, and run back to your heros. Spell Breaker is NOT necassarry this time. Kill these and pull the next group. Once all Rotund Snowmen are dead, proceed to Freezie. Unload all your AoE on him and he should go down in no time. Congratulations! You have finished the dungeon. Collect your rewards and head back to the surface!
Notes:
*You do not have to be a R/E. Any fire damage is good, if not possible, then find a way to support with mob damage/conditions etc.
*If for some reason you think you shouldn't be attacking with your bow unless said so in above guide, please, Barrage like crazy.

Snowmen do not suffer additional damage from fire.
Where have you people got this weird obsession with everything being fire? They're fleshy and leave corpses...so 3 necro works...fire works...earth works...air works...a team of barragers works...Quote:

Thats how i got to rank10, but i did take a short cut at 79500 i used a normal book and jumped to 99500 only then just 10500 to rank9 i then
Basically did the fire bond stuff but i also had 3 dwarven/deldimore skills Great Dwarfen armor +24Armor +60HP for 48sec with a 20% last longer and LoD 80 aoe (for r10) And AlKars Alchemical Acid, 50 aoe for r10) the last was E hog so i dropped it but they are nice if your at r9 LoD does alot of AoE and no attribute points needed.

Lina, Mhenlo, Eve, Herta/Cynn
Sousuke, Zhed, Vekk, you.
Your build doesn't matter. At all. You can speed things up by taking skills like Inspired Hex for the 'Down the shirt' skill, and a condition removal for the Daze. Otherwise, let the nukers do the work.
[skill]Searing Flames[/skill][skill]Glowing Gaze[/skill][skill]Fire Attunement[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Liquid Flame[/skill][skill]Heal Party[/skill][skill]Resurrection Chant[/skill] OPTIONAL
[skill]Mark of Rodgort[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill] are what I use.
I give all of them the Glyph actually, and give one Mark of Rodgort instead of Heal Party. Lets me do HM in 10-15 minutes on any of my characters.

<20 mins isn't all too special - sorry. i use 2 fire eles (not cos it does extra dmg, cos it does a shit load anyway ^^) and a bomber MM, then both ele hench and monk hench. I go /rit with [skill]defiant was xinrae[/skill]
Cyb3r
Errr all you need for that dungeon is a decent group up of the snowmen (only occurs in rare occassion that you got to group em up anyways) then just do mass aoe damage to them works in both nm and hm (allways do my chestruns there)

that's pretty much my setup to a tee, and sums up everything else I'd have to say in this thread.
(btw 10-12min would be a decent run time to shoot for.)

yeah i tend to average 12 or 13 mins per run. If i'm really flying i can do 5 runs in an hour including zoning and accepting reward and retaking quest etc.

Ah watever, close thread or delete?
