Complex Elite Healing Spell
FACEsmack
A lot of skills are not simply beneficial but come at some cost, blackout being the first that comes to mind. So I thought of a spell to heal but not be overpowered. Using the animation of meteor, Heaven's Falling Star (elite) would drop a rock on target other ALLY, and in turn give them knockdown 1 sec and a deep wound (or maybe dazed or cracked armor) for 10-5 seconds, BUT heal them for say 50-200 plus an additional 1-5 health regeneration for 5-10 seconds. It would be a powerful heal, but at the cost of being... well, hit by a meteor.
Balance the skill to cost 15, cast in 3 and recharge in 20 (or whatever happens to be proportionate with such a busy skill, maybe even cause exhaustion), and it would make an interesting heal spell. This skill would have 4 or possibly 5 different things happening (heal, regen, condition and kd, +-exhaustion), which is more than the vast majority of skills, save maybe blessings and avatars, so it is probably too much happening at once. Just an idea I had when I got hit by Meteor with Mark of Protection on.
Just think... getting hit by a rock from GOD!

Word of Healing heals for more, doesn't knock down your ally, costs less energy, doesn't cause exhaustion, takes less time to cast, and has a shorter recharge. Bad skills are bad.
FACEsmack
Then increase healing to give it more appeal and function as a spike heal that can function all on it's own. Somewhere in the 400 range, roughly double WoH.
Stormlord Alex
The thing is, Blackout is incredibly powerful and worth the cost.
your skill.... kinda sucks. WoH is better in every single way.
Big heals that take 3 seconds to cast won't save anyone, and no-one is gonna run a heal that hurts someone as well.

Age
There would be no need of that and would completely unbalance PvP play. There is already a spike heal infuse health and healing prayers are fine skill wise.
tehshadowninjar
You make it seem too bad. It would be like this.
Falling Prayer Star
Elite Skill. A heavenly star falls from space, hitting target other Ally. Target ally is knocked down and begins burning for 4...1..0 seconds. Target other ally is healed for 120...370..410 health. (Attribute: Healing Prayers)
1 cast time. 10 energy. 10 recharge.

Darkobra
A heal that causes knockdown, interrupts your ALLY, deep wound which in turn heals them 20% less for 200 health AND 15 energy for a monk? That's not a bad idea!
FACEsmack
tehshadowninjar thanks for straightening what it would be like up. That was more along the lines of a functional spell that I was thinking of!
FACEsmack
Also, I don't PvP at all so I unintentionally meant for this to be a skill geared more toward PvE
lordheinous
I don't want to be mean or anything, but I'm sorry, its a pretty fail idea; there are already plenty of good elite heals that don't have any downsides. However, if it makes you feel any better, even if this was the most /win idea ever, it still wouldn't get made into a skill, as anet's basically said no new major content for gw1.

I like the fact that u can drop a rock on ur ally, but the skill itself is pretty much useless. Like the fact that it heals for 400 health but takes 3 secs 2 cast, the point with mass heals like that is 2 prevent spikes, but withing those 3 secs ur ally can get spiked at least 5 times xD
WoH all the way, cheap energy cost, fast recharge and cast AND it heals for alot.
But if u want the best spike heal, just go Healer's Boon and Arcane Mimicry on a diff monk with WoH. MASS HEAL :P

Changes to skills MIGHT get used, but there won't be anything new added to GW1. Its all going to GW2.

I'm so gonna use that on a warrior with no healing prayers and stonefist insignia, just to piss off some party members. KD + Burn owns.

Infuse Meteor Shower 25 1/4 30
Elite Spell. Lose half your current health. For 9 seconds, target other ally and allies adjacent to that location are healed for 100...129...136% of the amount you lost and knocked down every 3 seconds. Whenever each ally is healed in this manner, that ally is set on fire for 4...3...1 seconds. This spell causes exhaustion.
(Attribute: Healing Prayers)
The above is not a serious suggestion.
/notsigned because simple is good for healing. K.I.S.S.

Plus it knocksdown allies, which is always a plus. "Oh look the warrior is running away with 10 life and the melee monster is almost on him! KD! now the monster kills him! WIN!
Plus it inflicts another condition! OMG! YES! Cast it on me AGAIN!!!
Oh man, it could have condition removal effects? So it could remove the conditions it adds to the ally? Awesomely WIN!
This idea is the second greatest idea Ever!
The first greatest WIN idea ever would have to be.
Noobs uber spell of Pwnage.Casting time. 25 sec. Cost 50 e. Recharge: Never.
Target other allies computer freezes for 5 minutes and Takes 100 gigs of damage. Erase casters hard drive.
This spell can not be interrupted.
WIN!
/Signed for being the greatest idea since radioactive underwear!

How about you asses shut up? I made the skill better, but all you're doing is paying attention to the OP, not anyone else's post. And quit with the sarcasm crap. It's just plain annoying.

The whole point of kd is that getting healed 400 hp with no sort of sacrifice is too overpowered. Sure there are combinations of skills that spike heal a LOT, but at the cost of half your current health or another skill slot. This idea just transfers that negative aspect to the person being healed instead of the monk. And chances are, the target is going to know you're using it on them and will avoid beginning a critical action... I do think instant casting would make it easier to plan when that time frame is available though, and the burning could be followed up with a quick condition removal, say plague touch? Plus as stated earlier at 16, there wouldn't even be burning, just kd, which is itself avoidable too, via balanced stance among many other skills.

This has to be the most insane idea for a monk healing spell I've ever heard of.

Personally I love the spell and look forward to murdering my own allies with it!

Altough the particular skill isn't too good, the idea gets my vote. There are already some skills with a trade-off: [[Meteor Shower] gives damage + KD, but also gives the caster Exhaustion. [[Drunken Blow] inflicts conditions, but causes knockdown on yourself.
These skills actually forces you to make a decision: do I really want to use it, even if it will harm you? They go beyond the actual spamming of 1,2,3.
Some skills like these in de Healing Prayers line would freshen up the skill-usage. Offcourse, they need to be balanced, but we could always ask Izzy for advice.
And even if nothing new is added to GW1, it would make an excellent start for to base GW2-skills on.
