Downloading Areas

Hey Guys, ive just got a new laptop and installed gw but the thing i dont understand is that its taking 5 minutes+ to download an area like kamaden it says Download 9.6mb (71kb/sec) witch seems pritty fast compared to my game on my computer witch downloads at like 20kb/sec :S is there a problemn or is it just gw being slow or what??

I would recommend before actually playing to download all images before doing anything ingame. This will take a while, but you won't have any issues after that.
1. Right click on the Guild Wars Icon
2. Go to Properties.
3. In the Target where it says something "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" put at the end a space then -images
(It will look like "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -images)
4.Once done remove the space and -images and start up Guild Wars.
Have fun and Happy Hunting.

kamadan is a busy district with lots of ppl...
perhaps its also downloading armour models as well
a lot of npc skins too
but yea....iits very normal for a first install
run teh -image command overnite and let it do a full download while ur afk
(alternatively u can jus let gw sit at the main login screen afk)

Maybe its because Kamadan has alot of "Lag" to most users, due to the Extremly High activity. I'd Suggest you start using Different Districts (i.e. European English Districts, once you start loading Kamadan faster, and faster, Then you can start using different Districts.
