Inde for CRM 08
Foe
Jesus Christ.. never mind. Someone could start a thread about their favorite car and you freaks will be arguing about hotdogs with in 2 posts. Also, thanks to all the sub-genesis's for pointing out that Inde wont be uprooting her entire life at the behest of the forums. Thats crack detective work retards. Somebody close this. My bad for forgetting with whom i would be interacting.

Requirements I don't have from the list:
- Bachelor's degree (though did graduate from college)
- 1-3 years experience working in community management, online journalism, marketing, or related field (I don't think Burger King and math/science tutor count here)
- Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies a plus (just not familiar...)
Because of the lack of those requirements, a good handful of people could easily be worth choosing than me.
Ontopic: Inde herself would have to decide if she wanted to do this. If she has and would, hey, more power to her.

You make it sounds like its easy to be a Community Manager.
Hint: CM is a full-time job. i.e. Inde cannot run Guru if she becomes CM. Plus the whole relocation thing...

I dont want to punish Inde with that.
Arkantos
Inde has a job, Inde has a son, Inde has a life. I don't think she's interested in changing her career.
drago34
Inde can handle it, look at how guru is doing... even with all the idiots and QQers.
Lycan Nibbler
I'd recommend Inde for President, but we'd have to remove Indes brain first .
fenix
If Anet hold back till 2009 I will be qualified to be their CRM. And you all know I'd to a hell of a better job than the last few they've picked.
But since that won't happen, I vote another bad CR person will get the job.

one other requirement that *wasn't* posted, and a reason Inde, or someone like him wouldn't get the job, is because they need someone who will roll over for the devs, know when to stop asking questions or demanding answers, and is most comfortable playing the middle ground as well as possible using meaningless babble.

I think the requirement that should have been posted is "must be able to deal with rude players who are never pleased no matter what". :P

Besides, I don't think anyone from within the GW community will ever want the CRM position, given what the know about how horrible we can sometimes get. Heck, Regina came over from XFire, she doesn't really know what she's in for.

Bring a CRM for a company, is I would imagine very different to being an independent commentator on the game. It's Like being a moderator on a forum(since they represent the BBS) you cannot just go about telling people anything you want, there are certain responsibilities and burdens you have to bear to do the job with integrity and honesty.
For example
I've had the honor to meet Gaile, when she was not 'being public Gaile' and she was much more natural. Gone was the cageyness and weight that knowing every single word she typed or said would be read by thousands and in it's place was someone of wit, charm and openess. It was clear that she *wanted* to be open and charming Gaile all the time, but because of the job she had chosen to do, there were times when for the good of the game.herself and Anet that could not happen
This is'nt being two faced but there is a gravitas to that position that means you cannot always be as you are all the time. It's a conflict that can get tiring for everyone.
Not every wants or thrives on that sort of conflict, most people are content not to have to wear two hats(public facing and the real you) and that's fine.
Good CRM's(and forum moderators) realise that not being buddybuddy with people, being impartial, showing respect to everyone and sometimes having to tow the line even when you don't want to is all part of doing the job well.
I know Regina is doing a grand job, not rushing things but carefully taking baby steps as she learns the role, and whoever takes this role as part of that team will need to do the same.

Managing a community of gamers like GW's is a fast ticket to a mental institution. I am surprised anyone would want this job, and I hope the pay makes up for the years of therapy.
