Your Favourite GW2 Race
Divinity Sword
Well seeing as how I'm into the peaceful ways and such (insert hippie comment here) I'll probably go Sylvari.

An Asura Sin is wrong on so many different levels... well maybe the ground level at least, they havent quite reached the rest.
Gregslot
Human of course.
I dislike giant arrogant people, also dislike small arrogant mouses, also dislike crazy kitty and... plant people? huh?
Looking foward to play as a Tengu, if possible.

Hmm. How can we ask this now? We dont really know anything about how races work in GW2.
My favorite so far is Sylvari. Based on the very little we know its as close as I can get to an elf-like race - elf/nymph/dryad/druid anyway - and that's what I like hands down in most any fantasy setting, so its safe to say no matter how Sylvari actually come to work in GW2 its what I am going with. I dont like Asura at all and dont wish to play a Charr, so if I'm going to play any other race than human I only have one choice anyway, unless there are more races we dont know about.
On an aside, I dont have any problems with GW as a franchise having dwarves (they already do) or elves, or any of the other so-called expected fantasy staples. I dont see a problem with it. To me, its more important how the race is used within the game system, and in GW, that could be different than anything that's been done before. Doesnt matter though - they've specifically said they want their own race types in the franchise.

1 up and 2 down
I would say human is my favorite. But probably because they will be the under dogs in GW2.
But after the human my favorites would be the Sylvari and then the Charr.

Providing they don't make Sylvari exceptionally more beautiful than Humans, I guess I'll just stick to humans.

Go go Charr!
I've always liked these beasties, and when I heard they'd be playable in GW2 I jumped for joy

GW2 still fills me with dread and trepidation, but playing along:
The Asura amuse me greatly, there's nothing like a race of tiny smart-asses. The Charr may prove to be entertaining as well.

Norn for me, for sure. I just love the way the huge weapons/shield look on Jora...and I love to hack and slash

Well actually I metioned sin, but we don't know if any of the present proffesions are going to continue into the next game. I have a strong feeling most of the core ones will however.

Kinda difficult to have a favourite right now, but in terms of which I will likely play, this is what I imagine my order of preference to be:
Sylvari - Hopefully, depends how they turn out
Human - Probably
Norn - Maybe
Asura - Not interested
Charr - Not interested

Sylvari - Depends,if they are more like dryads instead of pixies.
Human - necromancer
Norn - If i don't have to run around in a generic bear form the whole time, yes
Asura - no
Charr - If they aren't over populated

I think I will probably go with the Race that isnt played as much as the rest now I come to think of it, so I am more unique

Ehh... so far, probably Sylvari. We know next to nothing about them, but the start is reasonable. Humans are pretty much a punching bag for GW2 and, I hesitate to admit, not terribly interesting to me. The Norn don't really click with me, although they might be interesting to play. Charr and Asura are up themselves, which rules them out.
Dimos Zargarda
Im goin for the look, though im sure I wont play with the Norn, they just bloody ugly, if they keep the graphic of GW1 (which I really hope they will) il prob. take the humans.
Mitchel
Human or Norn, can't really see a difference between the two, tho, except their size. I wanted to be Dwarf because Ogden is kick-ass, but no, Jalis had to go all sparta and made themselves extinct. Although I still hope I can be a Dwarf

I dont think the dwarves are all extinct though, could be some of the gw2 story for them yet.

Charr all the way

Asuran - that is, as long as they don't give different abilities to different races or limit classes

As for races...Sylvari, Norn, or Dwarf (If they put them in)

Asura! Executioner's Strike to the groin!
smilingscar
I want to make an Asuran warrior or sin (something melee) and name him Yoda.
I will be really sad, however, if there's a significant racial penalty to playing an Asuran warrior or, say, a Norn mesmer. I think the only reason I'd play anything other than human would be to make amusing combinations.

Either Charr or Human, they're the only two playable races that really tie GW2 back to the first Guild Wars. The others are interesting enough, but seem a bit contrived when their sudden appearance in GW:EN puts them in the spotlight over already existing races like Dwarves, Tengu, and Centaurs, all of which were there from the beginning and had the right dynamic already (intelligent, societal, etc) to serve as playable races for GW2.
Adja1005
Assuming Anet dont screw the races by making them class specific, IE Asura only being able to become casters/backline classes. Then i hope to be a Asuran ranger or paragon (assuming either class is in GW2), the thought of beating the crap out of a Norn warrior makes me chuckle at the irony.
Inniss
Asura, so I can get away with calling the human players bookah. :P
Moral55
Human most identifiable for me.
