Question about attribute requirements for weapons

Do armor attribute bonuses count toward the attribute requirements for weapons? On my warrior I notice that if his swordsmanship is boosted to 11 for a req 11 sword, the sword barely deals any damage. His BASE swordsmanship attribute must be 11 in order for him to fulfill the attribute requirement.

If this is indeed the case, how do req 13 weapons work then?

Thanks in advance.

Probably a tiny bit better than req 11, because if your swordsmanship is req 13 you'll be doing more damage than at req 11. You can also just go with 15-16 swordsmanship and they'll all work the same way.

you need 12 weapon mastery to do 100% damage

you'll find the whole explanation on wiki

The game uses your modified stat after runes and such, not the base.

If you don't meet the weapon req, it will do the minimum damage for that weapon type.

Seperate from that, your weapon attribute also affects your final damage multiplier, which is why you see bigger numbers when you push your swordsmanship higher.

If you meet the attribute requirement for whatever weapon you are using, the weapon will do base damage.

A max damage sword at req 11 with and 11 in Swordsmanship, will do a base damage of 15-22.
A max damage sword at req 13 with and 13 in Swordsmanship, will do a base damage of 15-22.
A max damage sword at req 13 with and 11 in Swordsmanship, will do a base damage of 3-4.

This damage is further modified by your level of swordsmanship. increasing your damage as you raise the attribute, and the higher attribute will also result in slightly more frequent critical (maximum) damage hits. However the difference between the weapon requirement and your attribute do not matter, so long as you meet the req of the weapon.

A warrior with a Swordsmanship of 11 using a max damage req 9 sword will do no more or less damage if the sword was req 11. He will do more damage than a warrior using the same sword with a Swordsmanship of only 9 though.

This damage is further modified by:

Your strength (more strength=more damage from armor piercing)
Your opponents armor level, runes and insignias if applicable (more armor=less damage)
Your opponents resistances to specific damage types (Rangers resist elemental attacks for instance)
Your opponents buffs. (protection spells, etc)

Hope that clears things up.

This should help even further if your interested in the actual calculations.

am i correct in assuming that perhaps this req11 of urs is not customized for +20% dmg, and does not have a +15% dmg mod?

nope not quite correct
a max dmg sword at any req with 13 in swordsmanship will do slightly over 15-22 dmg
a req 11 max dmg sword will deal 15-22 at 12 swordsmanship.
a req 8 max dmg sword will deal 15 - 22 at 12 swordsmanship.

I don't see what's not quite right, as I expained myself and provided examples. If I have it wrong, please let me know where. TY.
