How do access keys work?

I have the regular versions of Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and EotN installed on my account. From what I gather, there've been some "special edition" versions of the game(s) that, when installed, give you bonus items like weapons or items. If I were to purchase the special edition of the base game, for example, can I add its access key to my account and gain the bonus stuff, even though I already have the "regular" version attached to my account?

Does that make sense?

Hopefully a new key will just attatch itself to your account, it'll probably just unlock all the extras. I bought Factions from the online store, it never seemed to install anything, just opened up more areas etc. it'll probably be the same idea as that

Yes, you can. Not really worth it, though.

Yes, you can, however, don't expect to get the original key back, cause you won't, once used it's gone.

You mean the key from the install I have now? Wasn't planning on "getting it back", so that's not really a concern.

You'll be able to put it onto your account, just put it this way, you have no limitations on to how many keys you want to add to your account.

No problem, just making certain you were aware, some people think that if they add a new key it'll free up the old one so they can sell / give it away.
