So...I just created an ele...and after playing around with fire builds (mainly mind blast), I'm getting sick and tired of it.
I'm looking for a good build using earth magic that gives dmg, short-medium recharge (yeah I know this is almost impossible).
I really don't care, just post all ur earth magic builds here and I will give each of them a try
Earth Magic skills please

Earth Magic is a pretty good utility line with Wards and whatnot.
[Ward Against Melee] is one of my favorites, though it's been nerfed
[Eruption] is godly for Melee mobs.
Earth Magic also has some skills that benefit from Weakness.
bring [GlowStone] & [Stoning] with EB for some fun KD spam. You don't even need to spec much into Curses for it.
Midline chars bring utility and support to the group, so a couple PvE skills, or whatnot and you got a strong support char.

Is my current favorite. Drop earthquake for a rez, churning earth, or PvE skills if you need. The ward slot can be used for any ward, depending on what you're facing. Enfeebling blood can just be [[email protected]] if you're a sissy. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

In general the Terra Tank build works very good for Earth magic, it keeps u alive in most areas. and does some nice dmg through SandStorm and Churning earth.

Terra Tank is bad in most cases.
You devote the majority of your bar to selfish defense and damage that comes every 30 seconds, when you can run a decent build which can deal that, and more damage along with strong utility such as Ward Against Melee.

Terra Tanks have there place, but like Tyla said they can be quite useless. Don't get me wrong i love ele's and love using earth. But all it takes is something to shatter your enchantments and your in alot of trouble.
Earth has some great skills, many that can cause some nice damage and the wards can be extremely useful, they dont have the all out damage of fire, but skills like Sandstorm and eruption can cause plenty of damage.
With Earth, as with most professions and skills you have to pick the right mission/quest to use them.

I've found [shockwave] to be very useful.
I also use [kinetic armor] to go in, cast all that I need to, and go out generally unscaved. Works well against spirits too.

Wards + AoE imo. The HSR ebon vanguard ward is particullary usefull for long recharging earth magic skills
