Drop rate for Elemental Swords?
King Sasuke
So is there a drop rate for it and is it a better rate than an ecto becuse i think an ecto is what 2%?
Carboplatin
ectos definitely have a better drop rate.
Ghostcell
yeah ummm ecto drop more then ele swords, but you can buy a q9 ele sword for about 15k these days.

Yeah the price of ele swords has completely tanked since raptor farming hit it big. I usually get 3-10 per weekend of intense raptor farming, and have taken to giving most of them to guildies because I can't sell them and they're clogging my inventory.

I have had 4 Ele swords in total drop for me - in several weekends of Raptor farming! (one didn't even have an inscription slot)
Not worth the bother these days - you make a lot more from the event items/golds/dyes/etc. you get from the farm than from the Ele swords

i got 1 ele sword from raptors, after 1 week of farming. It had deathbane and no inscription slot, so i merched it.

Two elemental swords from raptor farming from me. Twice on the same day. Considering how rare it is for me to even play Guild Wars, you can guess how easy it is to come across them.

OMG...over easter and pattys day i did nothing but farm raptors, equivalent to about 5 days of continuous farming and not a single ele sword
I've had much more luck with ectos,

take_me
Ye... in early January I had like 6-7 Ele Sword within a few days...
Then on the next events not a single one.
Got 2 on the last event.
Farming Ectos is definitely better... at least if there's no event^^

I bought one from a guildie at like 1/3rd of the price.
I think I salvaged it for a mod. It didn't look that good anyway.

You have to wonder what ANet was thinking, knowing what builds are out there to make a spot SO easily reached and farmed, and then to put a skin like that in the drop table. I mean come on, at least it kind of made sense for shape shifting bricks to drop them, perhaps they were hidden inside.
But I've never seen a velociraptor hold any type of sword, unless we assume they are like bull sharks that eat anything. I'd still hesitate to open up a raptor's gut to look for a sword though, again, unless I'm on Hoth and its the only way to save my friend from freezing...
I wonder what would the outcry be if Ectos and Crystalline Swords were added to the Raptor drop table? Makes just as much sense as 100k+40 ecto Elemental swords...

Well Ive spent one solid weekend farming raptors there for the birthday event and I recieved seven elemental swords drop over three days. r9 ,2x r10,2x r11, r12 and a r13.
I guess its just luck but they are so common now they arent really that valuable I would rather get a black dye drop than a r10+ elemental sword now.
