What gives us the right to moan to extent we do about Anet?

What exactly is your point? I fail to see how, even if most fans don't participate on the sites, it negates what the fans who do participate contribute and/or add.

Just because there are a good number that don't read this forum or the official site doesn't mean they aren't affected by those that do. Devs get hints, suggestions and feedback by the ones that do post. And if someone picks up a shitty game, forum goer or not, they're going to let anyone else who they're friends with that plays games know that it's a shitty game and they shouldn't bother with it. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.

Hey, we can moan as much as we want, ANet does not understand, or does not give a s***.

Maybe they have some new kind of target group, it is for sure not anyone here on this forum. Except maybe some Ursan bears, maybe.

The problem is half the spew that comes out of these forums actually happens to be the least constructive criticisms or idea's I have come across.

it just worries me that Anet might not even know what happens in their own game anymore

they must know

A: people dont want anymore buyable titles
B: People want emotes for titles such as glad or KoaBD

and the result? /Zrank

Because we buy their product, and so we are their customer, and so we get the right to give them feedback on their product.

But the customer isn't always right. There's a difference between constructive criticism and being an entitled jerk.

Screw political correctness and easy fob offs that "it's just teh internetz" or "you're a care bear", some customers deserve to be fired.

Ofcourse we don't have that right!
If you think it sucks.. make your own game?! Don't put the blame on a great coorperation as Arenanet!

Why would Arenanet improve the game if the only thing that happens when they ADD NEW STUFF to their games is b itching about it that it fails!?

Why would making your own game suddenly change your opinion of another that you've already paid for? Any good company listens to community feedback. (Which is why we had Gaile/have Regina.) They want to know what people want so that they can make the game better for the majority of players.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to please the crowd of your current fanbase, but they've strayed too far from their original Guild Wars when they included titles.

It depends. Opinions are like assholes: everyone has one, and most of ours stink. The devs, after reading these things as long as they have, can tell a legit beef from a whining puissant.

My only issue is with idiots who don't know how to use the search option to see if their egocentric rant hasn't been covered fifty times, already. WoW vs GW, for example. I still think that search option needs to be a 48 font.

The worse thing that could happen to a company would be indifference by the playerbase.

People moan because they still care about the product, or they're just trolls.

Mmm.. actually on the brighter side I'd end up spending more time exploring the areas like back then and actually enjoy the game because those titles are meaningless to me and majority of the titles are useless as well. But I do want a shinny wolfy emote!

If something doesnt work right, or someone doesnt like an idea, I think anet wants to hear why. But also provide a way to fix it. Just saying "This sucks!" is not constructive. Plus when someone puts an idea out there, people have the right to form their own opinion on it. This is not a dictatorship, even being the internet.

Although some sites and mods and devs seem to forget that.

I didn't read the OP. I didn't read the thread. I'm responding to only the question in the title because I'm lazy.

This is an online game, Anet is supposed to make their player base happy. Without a player base their is no Guild Wars.

We are also paying customers, and therefore have vested interest in any actions or policies which impact our gaming experience. I think you might also be familiar with the concept of customer complaints.

I'll admit up-front that I didn't read the thread, or even the rest of your post. Why? Because the question of whether moaning is justified is entirely immaterial to the question of whether we have the right to do so.

Granted, complaining would be much more effective if done with our wallets instead of our mouths (something I've been advocating for, oh, years). We are, however, still free to flap our lips impotently. Asking where people get the right is shockingly asinine, frankly.
