Was most likely deleted because there were ways described in there that block/remove all popups from working.
(No idea if that's correct, just assuming)

Duplicate threads about popups are either merged or deleted since they're redundant, miskav. That was more than likely the reason.

But your reason is also valid.

stop using IE. you dont get pop-ups with firefox, and IE is totally inferior.
