Skill Change - LoD Revert

My suggestion is simple.

Revert the skill "Light of Deliverance" (I'm craptastic with skill tags) to its former state.

That skill made monking fun. It was an amazing skill, and it was a true pleasure to play with it. ANet's nerfing of LoD only to replace it with a super-powered WoH is a step in the wrong direction.

LoD in its current state isn't even really worth being elite. Sticky this or something, ANet needs to bring this skill back. It wasn't like Splinter Weapon or Ancestor's Rage. It was simply lovely.

Anet's refusal to revert this skill is irritating. Either they revert it or make Blight/Boonprot playable, because this current WoH powerhealing is simply mind-numbingly boring.

/signed to make monking fun again.

i had a fit when they changed the recharge to 10...even at 2 sec cast it was still so fun to play. i basically quit gw for 3 months because of it, my main chars invincible build (in NM =P), ruined. all that work for fow didnt seem worth it any more =(

you're right, it isnt worth being an elite atm. change it back dam it! you can even let the wammos keep their WoH selfheal crap =P

i'm kinda the opposite of you. when i monk i love to have to use reflexes to uses WoH or my super-powered HB heals. LoD was the first elite I was forced to use durring my 1 week stint monking for my old gvg guild (our old monk wanted to play ranger, and we had another warrior so i played monk). LoD was so boring.

LoD made me have to go recruit a new monk, then i had to leave because the other guy took my spot as frontliner, so i hold a grudge.

edit: sorry, forgot to make a point. a small buff to LoD is in order, as is a buff to blight or boonprot (but hopefully not both)

If you want to argue that HB/WoH requires more 'reflex' action, you're absolutely incorrect. Not to mention the fact that 'reflex' monking is a bad way to monk - you should be aware of what's going on, not watching team health to push bars up.

The old LoD meta involved Infuse as a counter to spikes. You spammed LoD every once in a while, but then you kept a finger twitchy to hit Infuse when the spike came.

Just saying - power healing is the wrong mentality to have as a monk. HB and WoH promote power healing.

Boonprot/Blight are simply fun, and LoD was a good skill for the meta. ;o

I don't know which is more "fun", but it's hard to call a skill "balanced" when both monks of the backline were moving to this elite.

I like the change to WoH but it would be nice in certian situations where you want to use LoD.I very much doubt that anet would revert it as to it being abused pvp agian. It would be the only elite you would see on a Monks bar.

I still have few templates with LoD on it and wouldn't mind the change but I doubt it will happen.

As someone who primarily plays a monk, I'm going to /sign this, but probably not for the reasons most would expect.

I could live with LoD as it currently is with regards to cost/recharge/etc. But the current output of the skill makes it not worth it. As it stands, it's inferior to Heal party in every way except cost, and where LoD has better cost, HP has better recharge. Not even worth the elite slot as it currently stands.

So, Anet should either:

1) Buff the amount of healing to make it worth 5/2/10 and exceed HP in terms of healing and worthy of it being elite; or

2) As Snow Bunny writes, revert it to what it was before, which also makes it worth its elite status.

As it stands right now, there's no point to take LoD when one can take WoH or a HP/GoLE/HB combination.

I'd rather like to run a BLight bar and not get laughed at, there's something about that skill that's so awesome it makes kittens cry with happiness.

But LoD is fun too.

I say reduce it's recharge to 8 seconds and leave it as is.

no thank you, while it needs a buff. It's old state was too much.

You mean you want to go back to 2 sec cast time at 10 recharge that is not a buff.

At 7 recharge, maybe.

The 5 recharge was far too passive and you could just spam it at that rate without thinking.

The extra 2 recharge also means you have to use it decently. 8 if that's not enough.

Check out the new Dev Update notes. Looks like you're getting a revert.

No, I'd forgotten the cast time was reduced to 1. I thought it was still at 2. Nonetheless, my point still stands - buff it to make it worthy of what it is, or nerf the recharge.
