Name Change Special Event Weekend!

Aren't you guys tired of the endless supply of "double triple quadruple exp bonus per skill cap", "x500 faction weekend", "Double Green Blue Rainbow drop", and etc. weekends? I want something new.

I'm here to suggest that we have something like a Character Name Change Weekend. Where one (Just ONE) special weekend we get to change the name of of our characters permanently. I'm sure there are some players out there that want to change a certain character's name for their own personal reasons.

Now how this is done is simple. There can be one NPC in Lions Arch, Kamadon, and Kaineng which offers a quest that would allow you to change your character name as a quest reward once completed.

The quest description can go something like: "So you want to change your name in the History Books of Tyria (Cantha, Elona....) blah blah blah..."(let the devs fill in the rest).

Also, not just anyone can obtain this special weekend event quest. Only characters that have ascended or reached all those other checkpoint missions in the other campaigns can obtain this quest. This can be worked out as well.

I'd like some feedback on this. Sign or UnSign if you want. I just want to be able to change some of my character's names.

P.S For those of you that are going to say things along the line of "Why don't just start a new character with a better name?" etc. etc. I would just like to say that I've spent so much time and too much money on some certain characters that I cant just pack-up and re-roll. I'm sure there are other GW players out there that have always wanted to change a certain character's name but have gone through the process of getting FoW armor, Tormented weapons, etc. and have just found it to be a hassle if we we're too just re-roll all over again.

Not sure how hard it would be to implement this, since they're "too busy working on GW2" to have enough resources allocated for this type of thing.

But, all in all, I hate some of my characters' names, so /signed.

/signed Ive been moaning to my alliance on and off about this for ages now! when i first started playing GW i pretty much had the intention of making one or two main chars, that people would recognise in my guild/alliance etc, now i have 8 and have settled on a 'theme' to naming chars that i like, and that people recognise. This leaves me with the problem of all of my earlier chars that havent been named in this format, so when i sign on i sometimes get queries of 'are you new'? etc...

I have no reason to change my name. What is the point of doing so? If you change it and don't like it... you're screwed.

To Be Honest I don't Think It Would Be Too Hard To Implement.
The Server Holds The Names So It Would Be A Simple Re-Write, Though There Would Have To Be Some Sort Of Security And A Double Check.

This Part Should Be Even Easier! All Models Will Be Given A Code On Creation So That When You Load In You Load The Correct Model. This Should Be No Problem To Change And All Though I Know The Whole Can't Change What YOU Look Like But This Is A Game And Even In These Mythical Times There Would Be...

I guess I'll be the one to rain on your parade.

No matter how you try to sugarcoat it ~ it is still another thread about a permanent name change! Unless you reroll or have to change it, per Anet, due to a reported/unacceptable name...you are going to get a lot of one or more of the following:

1. You should have spelled it correctly the first time;
2. You should have chosen an acceptable name the first time;
3. You should have chosen a name you will be satisfied with (until you decide to reroll or are flagged by Anet);
4. Just great, more QQing about wanting to name change...

But ideas like name changing /hairdresser/etc... have been suggested many times. But I've never seen in as a special event weekend xD.

Name changing, so stupid, once you choosed your first name, you like it, after a while you just cant be bothered with it so you want to change ur nick. If you would have a chance to change your name, you woulld pick other name, and after a while you wont be bothered with it, again.
it is just psychologic, just dont change it, you have an option to write the "perfect" name for ur character once, use it wisely.

I Was Just Saying These Things Would Exist Even In These Mythical Times So A Weekend To Restyle Your Character Would Be Great.

On topic: /signed. I would definitely like to change the names of some of my characters. However, I'm not all for the physical makeover. Name-changing is one thing to ask, but model-changing is something else.

I Believe That From This If Even The Name Changing Isn't Accepted The Restyle Should Be. Certainly A One Off, As Talach Stated There Would Be People Wanting To Repeat Often.
