I always see people selling or buying "caster" swords/axes/scythes etc and was just wondering what mods actually classify them as a caster weapon?

Thanks.

'I have the Power!' +5 energy
Enchants last 20% longer

Generally, of course. Ele's may go with a different inscription, due to thier energy pool.

Besides the +5 energy 20% longer enchants, they can also do +5 energy +30 hp, but usually it is the first one.

Basically mods that benefit casters more than melee characters. +5 energy and 20% enchanting are popular choices like the others said.

also its important to note that "caster" weaps tend to be higher reqs,
unwanted by martial classes
i.e. r13

coincidentally, teh high req also reduces the cost
(no point in spending 50k+ more on an r9, when ur not gonna be usin it for the weapon dmg, rite?)

....and of course: A Caster weapon has to be either big or shiny, but preferably both

I'm pretty sure casters scythes don't exist , caster weapons are single handed weapons so that you can use with a shield and/or focus.

it's generally increased crippling, since a monk with return can gain an benefit from it. but in reality, no one really cares unless it's vampiric or zealous.

This is good for hiding your energy from edenial mesmers.

Felt like explaining this since it seems to completely contradict what everyone else is saying, but it doesn't.

The inscription that gives "+15 energy when enchanted" is also useful for 55 builds when you're in areas that don't contain enchantment-stripping baddies.

People don't really 55 in areas full of enchantment-stripping baddies. And it's +5 energy when enchanted, not +15.

Erm, right. I always get confused and think there's an inscription like that for martial weapons too Thanks for correcting me.
