New Player, help needed

I started playing two days age and am still stuck in Old Ascalon, what exactly am I supposed to be doing and could I get some tips for just starting on how to make money or level up easily.
I have the Prophecies campaign

It sounds like you went to post searing too quickly and didn't do the quests in pre-searing to level up and make a little cash. Also, are you taking henches with you with you leave the city? Just asking. They stand by all the exits, and they will help keep you alive.

I actually deleted a character who I took to post-sear at a low level just because it was such a pain to get around.

When you got out of pre the FIRST thing that you were supposed to do was accept that quest from the guy who appears in front of you after the cinematic. After that, the rest is easy, just follow the quest markers and after two quests-ish, you'll be doing the first mission, and after that, the game will lead you through.

Coming out of pre to soon can be sucky at first, but you're not lost yet.

eventually u'll get to a mission outpost
in which case, to advance further, hit the "enter mission" button in the party window

I STRONGLY suggest doing missions with REAL groups. I remember getting ran to Droks, Lion's Arch, and the Crystal Desert. I could've learned more by doing missions. But...yeah...I'll help you if you want me to.
