So yeah... I was wondering if the tonics (such as the everlasting phantasmal) can be used in a zone in pve?

At first the wiki page just said "cannot be used in pvp" which is different from what it now says, "town or outpost only"

The new tonic would be worth it to me if i can use it in more than just towns

Thanks!

hmmm...
i would have to believe wiki is correct

apprently some tonics u can use anywhere in pve, like transmogrifier
while this one u can only use in towns/outposts

reason being: anet was too lazy to implement all the animations for it (attack/spellcast/etc)

this jus slightly lowered my interest in gettin one now .___.

Certain ones that change your body into a creature can't be used outside (beetle and phantom). Yuletide and Transmogrifier tonics can be used b/c they use the models from the Male Mesmer and Female Necro.

i've used Yuletide Tonic at Isle of Nameless before
but that area isn't strictly a PvP area, cos PvE skills are skill usable there

Covah is correct. There are no annimations for you swinging a sword or casting a spell as a bettle or as a phantom, so there you can use it outside. Other tonics however you can use outside.

Thanks, this just gave me reason not to waste my money on one

I dont want to go off topic, but there ARE animations for asura casting/attacking, so if the rumors are true about there being an everlasting asura tonic in the comming months, it dam well better be usable outside of outposts
