EDIT: YES the thread name is wrong lmao use the fail pics plz

@moderator plz change to pve characters playing pvp :P thx

Ok now I'm sure this has been raised before, but i didn't find anything on it so yea.

First off its not a QQ thread
Secondly its not a thread for trolls to get their ub3r 1337zor post count a little higher

Enough of that, so I'm in Heroes ascent with my RT. Yes im rolling Expel what ya gonna do? lol

I quickly get a SWAY party and we get to underworld. We win that round and half the other team starts spamming at me go PVE with your Skinned Sword noob.

Now i understand why people dont like PVE players in PVP arenas, because in guild wars, every little advantage counts.

But the thing is, my rit has the same runes as a PVP char, 5 radiants, 1 minor rune, superior vigor and 4 vitae. My Caster set is a +5 energy undead sword of fortitude and a +12 hrc 20% channeling focus. My defensive set is a +5 energy +7 vs physical damage undead sword of fortitude and a -5 20% shield. and a high energy set (15 -1)

So wheres the problem? i don't get why people are so arrogant towards people that don't use PVP equipment. Is it strange that i like to have a decent sword and armor on my character?

and just to save time for people looking for fail pics here they are, use them at leisure

that should suffice

Just ignore them, I'm assuming that you beat the guys saying that.. it's just their own little way to try and redeem themselves.
Also, a lot of top PvP'ers have "skinned" equipment so to speak from either being a PvE character or through tournament reward points.

They weren't QQing becasue you are on a PvE char.

They were QQing because they got rolled by SWay.

Being on a PvE character was irrelevant.

BTW look around ID1 ... lots of people have PvE characters outfitted with perfect garb for PvP (I have 3).

Most people just need something to whine/bitch/cry about when they lose, it's human nature (Atleast, nature of most of the morrons online).

You'll get used to it.

They got rolled by Sway. Sit down and laugh, because they probably are bad at Guild Wars.

Although I would say, your equipment is kind of...bad...

As it was originaly intended to play PvP with your ascended PvE character, you should be laughing at them.

They are jealous because they can't get those skins that us 1337 players get in PVE.

Lol i only play SWAY when i cant be bothered to find a balanced with it taking 1-3 hours getting a party at this time of day

and whats up with my equipment? I kinda like the undead sword skin, but tbh the only reason im using it is because it takes 2 minutes to get and i can just stick a +5e inscription and health mod and im ready to go

and i do switch my weapon sets in battle, not like most players that just leave them lying in their inventory spamming my energy is 0 out of x

Having a nice weapon does not make my e peen knock my keyboard off my desk.
I dont have skinned weapons for other people to stare at, i have them because they look a hell of a lot better than this

I say you laugh back. There is no point to being turned off to playing certain characters in certain types of play because a couple of people got jealous of your win.

Survivor insignias!
Armour-ignoring spikes are hard, and it isn't always the case of more energy that will save you, high energy sets are for that.

Could be because you're missing out on half of your weapon sets.

Before you PvP with your Pve have at least the following.

+10 vs all damage fortitude shields(-5 20 is baed)
Cripple shield/blind shield for front line
40/40 sets for every one of your spells(or 40/20/20)

Also +30 on the sword is the way to go. And survivors all the way.

It should be common courtesy to spell out less common abbreviations if you are going to use one, like SWAY. Can someone tell me what build this is?

My PvE plays PvP and people don't say anything to me. PvE characters are capable of having the same armor and weapon statistics, and it if you aren't playing a tourney, it really doesn't matter if your stats aren't max.

Officially it's SpiritWay, but it's more known for being S%$^ Way, due to its lameness.

Who cares, I used skinned PvE character for PvP as well. I had all the weapon sets, the full survivor, all the weapon swaps including shields.... And it's funny watching GvG observer mode. Seems that nobody told top guilds that skinned items make you suck.

I think they mean go back to playing pve... most people start GW playing pve not pvp.
no one looks at your armor in a heated battle (and they can care less too)... only on obs mode.
the armor u wear doesnt even matter. those pvpers who talk trash say "go back to pve sway noob" to everyone even if u got a pvp char.

it's just a game
you play it for fun and that's it
no need to cus at people cuz they play pvp with a pve char
i play pvp sometimes with my pve char
she has obsi armor but so what
i like pve more then pvp but sometimes i go play pvp cuz i get bored
if ppl start cussing at me cuz i'm playing pvp with a char that has obsi i'd give them a carebear

I do admire the way you come in to a discussion and put something like that

But can we keep this more on topic. As i said, this isn't about my skill as a player, i just wanted to see every one else's opinion on this. The point of this wasn't because the kid bullied me in the playground and i needed to cry to Mrs green. The other team didn't know what armor or weapon sets i had, other than they were PVE weapons and not just created by pressing J. I love PVE and PVP but i don't get why there are people like that

Thanks for the input anyway

This. Also, you claim to have 1 minor rune, 1 Superior Vigor, and 4 Vitae, for a total of 6 runes. Typo?
Who cares what the opposing team says? Why should you? Why ask us?

PvP players can get Tournament rewards.

They are just envious. Forget about them.

OF course, they should fix issues like:
- PvP character cannot 'modify' pets.
- PvE characters can get mods that are impossible to replicate in PvP, like a 15% (always) inherent modifier or things like Flint's Artifact.

They should fix that, but there's really no need for anything else.

Yeah, but flint's artifact is bad and I've yet to see someone using a 15/always weapon in PvP.

Sure, there are minor differences, like r8 (and r7) items, but they really are minor.

They were probably trash talking for the sake of it.

But the reason people may frown on it is because most of the time people bring their pve's in they are not close to PvP ready which you have proved for us.

Obviously nobody cares if GvG'rs do it because its pretty safe to assume that they're doing it right.

Bottomline there is no reason to gimp your character when rolling a pvp takes all but 5 seconds. This has been said a million times over.

Pretty sure most serious PvP'rs would just buy what they needed. Req7 shields aren't being bought by Pve players.

You act like it would be hard for a predominately PvP oriented person to go out and get PvE exclusive items.

And people ask me why I never high end pvp...

Aethetics are always important to me, as most of the pvp creatable items are not that good to look at. At the end of the day though, someone with that pvp sword will still be as effective as someone with the torment one.

At OP: something similar happened to me. Got called a "PvE noob" while I was PvPing on my necro, who was sporting FoW armor, a chaos axe and a Gloom shield. Can't remember if I won or lost the match (was HA) but IIRC, the other guy's team HAD PvE characters too.

At some point I think it's just something to piss you off (didn't work on my case) or they are jealous indeed.

No, its actually a valid argument. If you're going into upper-level PvP on a PvE character you had better have equipment that you chose based on its real value in PvP vs. the alternatives, not because its "what you've always used for caster classes." There will always be retards that call you a PvE noob just because of your appearance, but if you don't have the best equipment options available, you have no grounds to defend yourself. When you go in with a -5/20% shield and Radiant insignia, you're enforcing the stereotypes that you made this thread to denounce.

I'm sorry if that's harsh and I don't mean it to be a flame, its an honest critique of the situation.

Honestly, you're playing the 2008 version of IWAY, what do you expect? Granted they were probably either running some other gay fotm, or really terrible... But people can get angry when they don't autowin over noobs playing fotm. It happens.

You shouldn't be in a sword in the first place unless you're in your weapon/shield set. If you're casting, then you want a 40/40 set. Also change your sword mod to +30, change your shield mod to something useful, and ditch the radiants.

Considering the elitists (sorry the PVP) players have always tried to preach to us that GWs was designed to make players start in PVE and then move into PVP, I really dont understand how it makes sense to complain when PVE players do actually move into PVP.
