Guild fun

Hello there peeps I was wondering what’s a good way to unite a guild? By this i mean events etc.
My guild has recently become extremely active I finally managed to change some peeps opinions about recruitment and the new guys are flooding in.
Now days its common to see 20 odd ppl online at once which for a guild that has not reached its member cap yet is vry good.

Now i need a way to keep these peeps entertained. So they never complain about how quite and boring it is in the guild. I asking to see if any Guru peeps here know of a gr8 way to 'entertain' a guild

And parties

If anyone has any ideas plz reply

depends what kind of guild it is.
why don't you try and a 1v1 or 2v2 tourny between the guild with rewards. ie) first place 50k, 2nd place 20k, 3rd place 10k

Yeah, that will unite people. AGAINST EACH OTHER!! MUWAHAH.

I would say contests like what Ghostcell said. Do farming runs with each other. I know it sounds corny but it may work.

AB if you have an alliance, or a scavenger hunt is always fun.

I regularly organise "The Big Blue Blade Race", we get competitors from all over the alliance and from the guild and we do 2 laps of the guild hall (not i the explorable, in the hall itself - thereby prohibiting the use of running skills), consumables are allowed XD. Its good fun, prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

and off we go. Its fun giving a commentary, everyone seems to enjoy it.

I'll assume for now that you have a pve oriented guild. Schedule events based on peoples interests.

- Hold Contests. We've done GW trivia contests with prizes donated by officers. We did a "find the leader". The guild leader warped to a random town and the first person to find him based on clues won a prize. He then jumped to another town. In all he hid in 12 different towns. (3 in each campaign/expansion)

- Schedule regular events during peak playing times.
- Monday night Vanquishing! 8pm EST. Show up in GH and we'll pick an area and go.
- Tuesday night PvP tutorials. Anyone interested in PvP? Show up in GH and we'll try our hand at AB/TA/HA whatever suits the skill level best.

- Wednesday is Elite Mission night. Each week we'll gather at 6pm tackle one of the Elite areas. (FOW/UW/DOA/Tombs/Urgoz/Deep)

- Thursday night is newbie night. Anyone need help with a quest/mission? This is the best time to ask. Officers will be available to help with quests whether you want someone to run it for you or just offer tips.

You get the idea. Be creative. Put up some polls in your forum and find out what your members want to see and who might be willing to lead events.

We have weekly auctions every Sunday night. It works fairly well; we have different people each week auction off the items so that everyone has a chance to get involved and make some money on the side.

I'm an alliance leader. On a daily basis I'm faced with that very same problem Not that I see " I'm Bored" very often but I dread the few times that I do. And usually it sends me into an involuntary typeing frenzy trying to outline/remind people of all the things that are available to them if they bother to register on the forums

Our Friday night Lotto is our monster event With prize pots always around 60-70k in gold and 30-45 donated gold/green items

Our Scavenger Hunt is still in its infancy but growing every week.

Also on the back burners are......

Dodge Ball ( i vote for 1 person with correct runes/skills and the rest of us running around nekkid and drunk )

Alliance wide trivia ( wiki has TONS of useless trivia )

Guild relay races in a Guild Hall ( racing along a pre-set path and trading a mini pet to each team member )

Hide n Seek ( using alliance guild halls )

Bingo ( using /roll command )

Get Rich Fast ( party into an explorable area, 1 person drop 500-1000 gold pieces 1 at a time, the others race to pick up as many as they can, gold/green items as well as mods/inscriptions also work )

UAC ( Ugly Armor Contest, find the worst, mis-matched,ill-fitting,disgustingly dyed, noobest, ugliest event mask and put them all together : ) lol Have guild/alliance members vote for the best of the worst armor )

and heres one example of the thought we put into an event..........

P2P Racing ( portal 2 portal )

A group of racers all form a group in an outpost or town. Depending on the number of racers different outposts that allow larger groups may be needed. A " judge or referee" joins the group. Upon exiting to the explorable area the " judge" promptly " dies". Much to the enjoyment of the competitors who seeem to enjoy watching him/her rush headfirst nekkid into the 1st group of monsters that volunteers to violate said judge.

Then with a " GO " command in Alliance or team chat the race is on. Different strategies can be used. The usual " Bum Rush" and see who lives or a more tactical "agrro everything and scrape them off on an unsuspecting victim" seems to be a favorite. People can work together or fly solo. Its really up to them A running play by play in alliance chat is also good for moral and for generating intrest for other players.

The judge can see if someone zones or leaves the party which is instant disqualification and jump around from racer to racer to check progress or laugh at failure Its all in good fun and so far we havent gotten it rolling but hope to in the near future.

1st person to enter next town/outpost is the winner.

Thats 1 example of something we are trying to get started. On our forums are several more original ideas and a few borrowed from other guilds.

My ign is Dies Fourth feel free to pm me with any questions or if your intrested in a solid mature family friendly guild/alliance : ) It may take me awhile to answer though so please be patient.

Divide the people online into 2+ groups of 8, pick a hard mode mission with lots of guaranteed slaughter, such as Tahnnahai Temple, Vizunah Square, Raisu Palace..., and have a competition to see which team can come up with the most awesome team build which can beat said mission in the shortest possible time. Set maximum 3 attempts, and obviously at least one person must screenshot the time taken at the end as proof.

Every participating member pays 1k into the "pot", and the winning team get an equal share of the winnings. So...2 teams means if you win, you double your money, 3 teams means the winner gets 3× what they put in etc., etc.

Get a Vent server.

I have an idea for you.

could be hard but the writer of the riddle have to be good. might take some time setting up this game to.

It has to do with map travel, like a treasure hunts

Step 1) write up riddles, many riddles.
Step 2) collect donation of items/gold for prizes.

How to play:
All contestant starts from guild hall.

you'll need maybe 3 persons to station at the check points, once the first one is all done, number 1 check point guy will map travel to check point number 4 to wait for the constestant. ect.

Ask your riddle in the guild chat

(for instant, this is a lame one, if you are a monk and desire to farm alone with very little health, where can you find a guy who can help you take off 50 health point?, so obviously the answer is ascalon, so first player to reach ascalon will have to look for the check point guy, obviously beside symon, once found, they get a prize and the question to the next location.)

first guy to solve the Riddle and map to your location gets a prize and riddle to the next location. there are 3 prizes for the first 3 players to solve the riddle. The rest do not get prizes, but they still stand a chance to continue to get the grand prize.

hope you understand. something like the amazing race Guild Wars Style. and you made up rules and regulation as you play along and find out what can and cannot be done during playing.

anyway, just thought I help.

Dodgeball is quite fun, it is only limited to 16 people typically, but I find it to be an enjoyable event without the pressures of "oh noes i just got keeld"

Ok, with dodgeball how exactly do you set it up? Does everyone have to make a pvp ele or something?

By this do u mean a peep running away from other peeps? Ie a chase?

I dnt see how it can really be played :P can anyone explain?

But yeah-[shock] and [windborne speed] can be kinda fun to play around with.

For those to lazy to click through to our forums, Dodgeball is basically this:

E/whatever
Full Radiants, Full Superior with Air Magic head piece
12 Air/12 Energy Storage (thus you should have 16 Air and 15 Energy Storage and your health is at 105)
And your skill bar should look something like:
[lightning orb][resurrection signet]
Optional: 20/20 Caster set, running skill

Basically you Dodge the Orb while trying to hit your opponent, and with the rune setup it's a one hit kill.

And you can throw in variants, like team play, 1vs. Many, etc.

The " variant" i personally vote for is the..............

Run around drunk and nekkid screaming like a lil girl But thats just me

After all our alliance has a motto: " No one gets left behing unless we leave you behind "

And our skill bar consists of:

Hack Slash Run Cry Prey Die with an elite of Fetal position

Of course all this is done whilst running in a tight short skirt taking babysteps with elbows pinned closely to your sides swinging arms wildy in all direction shrieking like a little girl

And some of our members are better at it then others but i wont mention any names to protect thier identities /looks at Rich :X
