btw its "Nightfall"

theres only one expansion to Guildwars, eye of the north

the other 3, Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall are totaly seperate, fully fleshed games that can be linked together

all 3 are stand alone, and dont require any of the others to play

on the otherhand Eye of the north needs at least one of the other 3 to run

Prophecies, Factions & Nightfall is all standalone chapters while Eotn is a expansion requiring 1 of the others.
so no , you can start with buying nightfall.

Different storylines, locations, added skills and armor.

And again, it's Nightfall.

It's not a matter of better, it's just different.

Nightfall gives you heroes which makes things a little easier. Plus it's longer, storyline wise, than Factions. Nightfall has an Egyptian theme, while Factions has an Asian theme. Most people don't like Factions as much. I started with it, so I like it just fine.

EDIT: Mr. G beat me with the link. lol.

No, you have to buy each game to have access to each. But once you have the other games you can take the character from one game into the storyline of the other, without having to create a new character from scratch.

You don't have to buy them all right away. You can get one and do it and add the others whenever you want.

But really, all this is in the link Mr. G posted. That'll answer most of your questions.

You can mix and match Nightfall, Prophecies and Factions you don't need to have them all. The only one you need to have one of the three above to use is Eye of the North.

May also be true for the Bonus Mission Pack but I am not sure about that.

Prophecies is the best game but Nightfall and Eye of the North have the advantage of heroes...

3 Campaigns:

-Prophecies ('original game')
-Factions (second campaign)
-Nightfall (third campaign)

Can al be bought alone, and played alone. If you bought one (say Prophecies), you can add another campaign (say Factions) to your account, so your characters can play on the other campaign too.

1 Expansion:

-Eye of the North

You need to link this to one of the campaigns before you can play.

Better be reading this one.

Yes you can. And you might just want to start reading the links we posted, everything is explained in that article.

Just whisper, IGN is to the left

Yes. just requires a simple quest to get to NF with a Proph char in the first place.

imo, for beginners, get the original, I would play them in order of in-game timeline *Prophecies, then Factions, then Nightfall, then Eye of the North*.
Seeing how you have yet to buy a game, I highly suggest buying Prophecies first as that has a good pace *again, imo* and is probably the best.
