i hope the user im using as an example doesn't mind but let's say I'm searching for ancient bows.
here's a thread that sells ancient bows and is listed as so.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10288776
included in it the words "Ancient Bows"
I a buy wants to look for an ancient bow. so I type in "ancient bow" in the search. That thread that's selling the bows is not listed.
If I type "Ancient Bows" <-- notice the difference it'll show up. the search should be able to return the result whether i type "ancient bows" "ancient bow" "Ancient bow" or "Ancient Bows"
there's no way for me to know what they typed exactly
Search is bugged. Reproduced.

It's not bugged. And I typed in "Ancient Bows" using upper and lower case and came up with the same search results with that particular thread you linked the third one down every time. So maybe I don't quite know what you are saying here. If you go to advanced search you can also do a Boolean search. There are many ways to effectively use the search. So you can do Ancient AND Bows. Or do Ancient Bow* which will return anything that may be typed after Bow such as 's or just an s. Just different search methodologies.

I was not aware of * after the search and I used regular dropdown search not advanced search to look for stuff. When you click on "Search This Forum" option and try searching for "storm bow"
I don't get either of these hits which I got using advanced search. They clearly state "storm bow" in both threads. I guess the mini search is not working the way it expect it to work

K, I'll play around with it. See the limitations with both and the advantages of one or the other. Thanks Hurric.

Just to clarify;
Vbulletin doesn't allow searches on words of 3 characters or less, such as "Axe" or "bow". To get around that, you have to add the *, the wildcard symbol. However, only Boolean searches accept the asterisks as a valid command.
