Oh Hai, need feedback on my PvE weapon build
Utaku
Hello fellow rits,
I've been running a pretty standard channeling resto build with life, kaolai, splinter and rage. It's very strong and consistent and all, but I want to try to run a weapon build for the sake of changing a little bit. Life and Kaolai are still there, but on a nec or rit hero.
Here is what I've got so far:
Restoration magic: 12+1+1
Spawning power: 12+1
[skill]weapon of remedy[/skill][skill]weapon of warding[/skill][skill]weapon of shadow[/skill][skill]great dwarf weapon[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill][skill]mend body and soul[/skill][skill]wielder's boon[/skill][skill]death pact signet[/skill]
Please help me improve this.

Weapon of Shadow is too restrictive for use in PvE, I think, long recharge and randomness of mob attacks render it pretty useless.
I'd recommend something like [Energetic was Lee sa] and [renewing memories] for energy management, you lose a tad of healing or a res though.

Warding + Weapon of Shadow is unnecessary. However any rit without Splinter Weapon in PvE is missing something. ESPECIALLY a weapon-based rit.

I disagree. Weapon of Warding is a great spell. In my builds when I want a weapon spell it is often either Warding or Resilient weapon, as they're equally as good, and both nice and flexible.
I agree about the point of Splinter Weapon though. Maybe 10-10-11 spread of attributes to make use of Channeling also. Weapon of Shadow has quite a long recharge to make it that useful. Having said that, it does become pretty nice in places such as AB where one person gets consistantly targetted by physicals, such as an Ally Monk, or indeed, yourself.

Splinter+Ancestor's should be on any non spirit spammer Rit...
weapon of shadow is unneccessary, keep warding.
as for GoLE, Rits have plenty of e-management options, not sure why you need that... also take out MBAS, Wielder's Boon is enough healing for you and like you said your heroes have all the other goodies(N/Rts or whatever)
also if you're H&Hing than you dont really need a res, give some of your heroes nice hard resses and thats it. if you find yourself needing to use your res than you're doing something wrong, in which case you should go back to the outpost and rethink your build/strategy...

Well I used GOLE cause Offering of Spirit was getting old and I had 3x 10 energy spells.
Switched out Gole and Wo Shadow for Rage and splinter; feels like running my old build again...

Sadly, rits just aren't that diverse with their current skill options. Offering of spirit makes pretty much everything else look bad.
You don't need splinter if you're running GDW, as they'll interfere with each other too much. You want to maintain both of them on your physicals as close to 100% of the time as possible, so they mix poorly.
Weapon of shadow is an awesome spell, and I actually prefer it to warding. Warding is a small prot, which your monks should be taking care of anyway. If the 5 second recharge matters, then you should probably just be playing a straight restoration rit. Shadow is a big prot, making one character essentially immune to physical attacks for 10 seconds. On a hybrid bar, I'd rather throw around one big prot when I need it than spam a small prot.
Back on topic, I vaguely remember a weapon build Dahnel posted a long time ago. Something like this:
[attuned was songkai][serpent's quickness][renewing memories][resilient weapon][weapon of warding][great dwarf weapon][wielder's boon][soothing memories]
Perhaps dropping soothing memories for a rez as appropriate. Make sure serpent's quickness is up when you use attuned, and you have 3 energy weapon spam time.

A weapon spell build without splinter weapon? Madness.
Drop weapon of shadow for splinter. Speccing into about 9 channeling for splinter weapon is well worth it.

Since you're using Spawning Power, you might as well use some weapon based ckills from the line. [wielder's zeal] is good E-management on a weapon bar. [wielders remedy] used with [vengeful weapon] sort of negates the need for [Weapon of Remedy], freeing up your elite slot for Zeal.
Here's a gimmicky bar I came up with after I ate an entire box of Pockey at 3:00 AM:
[wielders zeal][wielders remedy][wielders boon][vengeful weapon][weapon of shadow][weapon of warding][great dwarf weapon][Death pact]

im not sure maybe you could take [wielder's Zeal] instead of [weapon of Remedy] but all together it looks like a pretty solid support build i dont much like [weapon of shadow] because of the recharge but that is just me and if its working right now dont think you need to change anything just play what you want to.

that's indeed the way to go for a weapon Ritualist
[Wielder's Remedy] can be swapped for [Mending Grip] depends on what u like , I'd say they're equal qua 'power'.
