I don't really think this counts as an accident but I was helping this guy out and he got a black dye drop. He was kind of a newbie so I guess he did not know how much they were worth so he gave them to me! I was kind of happy because i need the money but I felt really bad!

Damn Gali, that sucks. Good tip though to remind yourself that a character also has heroes with equipment, weapons, runes and insignia's that you can salvage and store. I hadn't thought of that myself tbh, but then I've never deleted a character. I just buy character slots :P
I did once map out of an area too fast out of frustration due to enormous lag, and later saw a gold item had dropped for me :S (fortunately it was just a superiour rune, but it might have been a vigor, so still kinda sucks)

Deliberately trash canned an Undedicated Oni over a year ago when I rage quitted for a few months. After coming back, I bought another one and gave it to a friend who rarley plays now! Good times.

I had a PVP character that I barely used and I deleted it just few days shy of a year to receive a mini-pet. I didn't realize the date until after I deleted it. A friend of mind pointed it out because we both created our characters on the same day and he kept his. Needless to say he received one the rare Mini pets.

Well did it ever happen to you where you decide oooo I am going to make a character of this profession and get him/her 15k armor because it looks so cool. Well I did that to 4 of my characters: Mesmer, ritualist, elementalist, and dervish. I just never played on them and deleted them, yes with the elite armors. And you would think i learned my lesson after that. So i got an extra account from my friend and decided to make a cool looking female war on a Clean account since i had no space on my main, guess what..... I don't play on that account at all. There go the chaos gloves, vabby leggings, vabby top, obsidian boots, and blindfold. I also sold a req 9 tyrian fellblade perfect to a merchant due to lagg( Back when it was stupendously high in price, about 100k+15e.

Well, I'm more the type whose most common mistake is Alt-F4ing out of UW (a little hint: don't put the weapon you frequently switch to on slot 4 if your vent hotkey is Alt 
), but I have screwed up a few times. Mainly I merched a couple mid-value items by accident.
There were a couple times where I accidentally stuck a rune on top of another rune. I think one of those, I put a Radiant or Survivor Insignia on my (already-insigned) pants when I'd meant to put it on my shoes - and it was back when those types of insignia were really expensive.
I'm always terrified that I'm going to accidentally merch Urgoz's Longbow. Heck, I'm constantly switching it in and out of my inventory without even noticing. Stupid thing's icon is pitch black; I can't see it at all in the inventory unless I happen to mouse over it. One of these days... one of these day's I'm going to screw up. And that would suck, because that was my Secret Dwayna present last Wintersday.

Same as most pvp characters. I use mine for muling and I reroll often. Usually have the main pvp chars that are pretty much perma (monk, nec, ele, war.) Needed a rnger so i deleted the monk with full (and i mean full, belth, bags and all) of sigils.
Sold 1 absobtion rune for 5k instead of 50 (before the cheapness came in)
Deleting pve chars now and later to make room for new ones with names I like and prfessions I will play.
Wasting close to 400k already attempting survivor on 5 different chars at once.

I am totally regretting deleting my perma pre (lvl16) necro 1 day before the new collector and also he was coming up to a 4th year birthday in june some time.

I had a perfect 14^50 r8 Fellblade, a r10 Shadow Blade, a Drago's Flatbow (on warrior yes), every skill including the elites, a magmas shield, and of course elite ascalon armor (called charr hide today). Had all that before factions came out.
She deleted it and spend all the money I had in my storage on Black Dyes which she then merched >.<
Siblings can be cruel!!!

I guess all I got is I once merched a spear I set up for +5/20% enchant. This was before they became fashionable, so I got the mod pretty cheap. (<5k). dunno how I did it. I think I accidentaly double clicked on some crappy spear that got equipped instead. I have solved this by using a customised Char Spear to at least give me a warning before I merch.
Also, like my first week of playing about (just before NF came out), I put a black dye on my starter boots (or maybe my first collector boots). I didn't know then that they were so rare. I have found 14 since then. Ouch.

My best would be deleting all my 15k Necro armors from Prophecies when Factions came out. I thought the new armors were so cool, and I didn't have space to keep my old ones. But then I didn't have money or mats to buy the news ones, and now we have HoM and my Necro has two sets of armor in it. He would have had six.
