GW I Exit Strategy to GW II
esthetic
So EoTN allows some transfer between GW I to GW II in the Hall of Monuments. But what about my Gold, Ectos, Rare Items, ect. (I know of some ppl who have stacks of ectos and items worth 500e plus) that can not be transfered in the Hall of Monuments. What is to become of them.
If I want to play GW II exclusively when it comes out what should i be doing in GW I, to maximize my experience in GW II.
I know most of this will be just conjecture but but heck its fun. =]

This has already been stated. The only thing transferable is going to be character names and maybe you'll get a title if they still have those. They say you may also get some bonuses which might be a mini pet or weapon. I wouldn't count on anything more than that. If someone does have 500e plus than they should probably spend it or use it? The experience is already maximized.
komma
erm money and loot should def not be able to port over, bonuses for achievements are different then just porting over your storage which is an extremely chince idea. gw2 should be a fresh start for all, not a bunch of tards w stacks of ectos there off the hop dictating the market.

No rare items except destroyer weapons is worth anything.
IF you are really serious about leaving GW1 behind, it is time to liquidate all those other things and use money to buy 15k armors, destroyer weapons and hunt goldsink title(s).
Dread day people realize this because after that you wouldn't be able to give away stuff like crystalines or tormenteds: market collapses as everything except crafting materials will be worthless.

I think nothing except the name is a good idea. We really don't want to give some people a bigger e-penis than they already have.

OP: GW1 and GW2 are different games. WTF don't you understand about that?

New game, new start. I never heard people upset at the fact that you couldn't transfer over all of your gear and items from Final Fantasy 7 when FF8 came out.

There's a long long ways still to GW2 so just enjoy what you have.
BenjZee
anyother game, a bit of fun
StormDragonZ
Take the game Ratchet and Clank 1 & 2.
When you beat R&C1, you can get, for free, weapons in the 2nd game that you had available in the first.
Some way, shape and form... I'd like something like this.
Destroyer Weapon in GW1 = gain same weapon in GW2.

Hai guyz,
Fallout 3 is coming out later this year. What should I farm in Dragon Warrior to make me rich in Fallout 3? What will happen to my materia in Final Fantasy?
Thanks

The OP knows that the people with all the rare mini's and stacks of ecto cant carry it over to GW2, it clearly says that in his post. He is more making fun of the rich people being reduced down to poverty again.
But i must say that rich lil kids in real life will still be rich lil kids in the gaming world. For some of these people whom are rich, all they did was buy gold and ecto from gold selling sites. They spents hundreds, probaly thousands of dollars to become a rich person in the gaming world, only because they could afford it and have nothing better to do with their rl money.
Also people whom hack or find dupes will still be looking for hacks and dupes in GW2. People who used the market at the right time, will know how to use the market again. I can safely say after talking with a majority of the rich people in GW, only a few earned it through normal playing of PvE or farming.
It sucks to lose or get devalued stuff because the game ends, but every game is gonna end. Just like GW2. There will be rich people in it and years later GW2 will end as well.

Stacks of ectos happened because A.Net made a HUGE mistake!
Im SURE they dont want it in their new and shinny game!
You can give them to me, i woulndt mind, im looking foward to get 40 more ectos and shards to complete the Obsidian Armor for my Mesmer.
If you have enought of them, i would like to get it for my Ritualist too. As that is a very far far away dream for me!

Just use all you money to fill your hall. Once that's done, there's not really anything else to do for GW2. Just play for fun till GW2's out.
You could also use your money for the z-title if you're really looking for things to burn money with.

I personally don't think that GW2 is going to fair as well as GW1. Also we should be able to put mixed armor into our HoM and other tormented items. Obviously money should NOT be carried into guild wars 2 since the market is inflated and one of the reasons of creating GW2 is to reset the market without upsetting the players. I only wish that GW2 could be linked to our original account and we could walk through some "portal of time" and go into GW2.

People who get rich are the ones who do something first. Run people, trade certain items, have good timing on soon-to-be-nerfed items. If you get a rare minipet first, and sell FAST, you can make heaps. Then, if you buy a RAAARRREEE one for cheap, and hold onto it, you make even more. I could have bought a mini beetle when they first came out for 350 ecto, but at the time I didn't have the cash. Now they're worth what, 2000? Same goes with Island Guardian.
The LBSRA were one of the first GOOD running groups, and they all made heaps of cash because they got in early to get a rep, and discovered all the tricks to make their service the best.
Etc etc ad nauseam.

No. GW:EN allows you reserve character names and transfer some achievements to GW2 through the Hall of Monuments. So what stuff do I actually get in GW2 from putting things in the Hall of Monuments? There isn't any word on this. Anything you get from OGW won't give you an permanent advantage over new GW2 players. Basically, expect cosmetic stuff with stats that new GW2 players will be able to achieve by playing GW2. |

The OP's question is pretty funny. It's like asking "So what are you going to do, a few days before the end of the world? Do i sell all my belongings and hope for the best?"
VanDamselx
I'd rather not have my wealth (or lack thereof at the moment) carry over. I want GWII to be a fresh start to a totally different game. I am so sick of GWI at the moment that I can't wait to start something new.
Wrath Of Dragons
So, 1 up and 2 down's post sums it up.
