A Customize Option
[SeeD]
I already know what most of you are thinking, but look at it this way.
Most of the time when I see people who want to change their chars face, hair, color, etc they want Anet to make an NPC in a town that they pay 1k or so to change something, and the problem with that is that Anet doesnt benifet from it that way, so how about makeing something in the in game store for 10dollars or so that would let u " before u log in" ( Login | Delete | create )
How about a customize option? You can choose his\ her height hair, face etc before logging in or it could be with the Historian as the Bonus Mission Pack in kamadon Kaineng or Lions arch.
I think this way would let us players finally be able to change our favorite chars and Anet could make alot of money doing so.

Well the thing was my character was an assassin. That way i didnt really see his face ( the mask ) so when i finnaly saw it i was like WOAH WHAT DID I DO. also i kinda rushed into the game because my friends had GW about three months before me and i didnt have it so i just wanted to play as soon as possible. And ive ben playing for about 10 months and ive only played my sin ( he was my only char) until about 2 months ago wen i started makeing new chars

/signed. btw, this has been suggested before, and you could probably find the most-posted thread if you'd use search.

*Shrug* Changing your appearance is something people want, but paying real money for it? Purely a waste imo.
If you REALLY want it, you'll remake the char, if you think it's a waste of the char, you don't want it.

armor covers most of the felsh anyway in warrior situation coers it all up, height makes no difference, so grow up and play the game. if u want to play dress up go to your local Toys-r-us and buy some Barbie dolls

Why not? Even if people aren't going to use it, it can't hurt to have the option available.

It's possible that the programmers could do additional changes, with hugely more complex programming, but that work would most likely be made even more complicated by the fact that few players would be content with a gender swap, they'd want the full deal: all hair choices, all face choices, a height selector, etc.
I do agree with you guys that having such options -- any or all of them -- would be great. But the designers tell me we will not be adding these features to Guild Wars for very logical reasons, such as time, the long path involved in moving towards other projects, etc. We honestly cannot stop some staff members' involvement in the development on Guild Wars 2 to spend months on this feature, and I believe I understand that it would take months. (Consider how long Hard Mode took each time, and Reconnects, for a point of reference.) We will, of course, consider the possibilities of appearance change options, even as an in-game store option (which some players have suggested), for Guild Wars 2. In the meantime, we have been talking about other fun options that are not completely out of the realm of possibility and which may find their way into Guild Wars. It's too early to talk about them yet, but we'll see. |

Hopefully GW2 will have a lot of the ideas that were suggested here (that the majority /signed) and are not in game now. Some ideas are good; others were overwhelmingly /not signed. At least Anet replied, even if a "considering the possibility in GW2", so we can only wait and see...

We aren't maple story.
Paying money for in game features is a slippery slope.
PS: Don't troll people who disagree with your ideas. Its a public forum. People have the right to disagree with you.

Seriously, think before you post something, it might save you a lot of trouble next time. (or at least try to suppress your raging prepubescent hormones.)
to OP: /notsigned, because this idea has been suggested dozens of other times in dozens of better ways.

This is a FREE game, not a game based on cash shops or Pay-to-Play
I would only /sign if it was in-game and money sink for people with money...which isn't me....

Your toon is actually a soldier even though referred to as a hero not a beauty contestant. Is that concept too hard for you to understand?

People don't buy these armors and weapons to "upgrade" anything but their outward apearance, and because GW offers no high level reward aside from cosmetic changes and apparel.
But if all this bothers you, I could give you a Cootie Vaccination and we can get on with our lives.

GW has a policy of 'pay once'.
So I would agree with a 'customization kit' if it was paid once, and once paid, it would be available forever inside the game (Probably as a new NPC in each Event Town)
But I will NEVER, EVER agree with a 'pay each time' micropaiment feature.
I will agree with 'Pay once', and 'Pay once' ONLY.

Nearly every rare item in this game comes from slain enemies and chests. The fact that people buy and trade their items for ones they prefer don't change this. The prestige of a weapon doesn't have anything to do with the looks but in the difficulty of obtaining it. A tormented weapon may not be sightly at all but the prestige of the item comes from saying you beat DoA. Stormbows, chaos axes, and zodiac weapons are all linked to conquest of elite areas and are spoils of war. |
