PlayNC / Guild Wars Connection Issues

Some of the production PlayNC servers were relocated yesterday. Due to the relocation, there have been communication problems between the PlayNC servers and the Guild Wars servers.

This affects anything that requires PlayNC to talk to Guild Wars, such as game account creation, online store purchases, and password changes. The Guild Wars in-game store should not be affected.

The issue is currently being taken care of. I will update again when this has been resolved.

As far as I am aware, this has nothing to do with the heavy lag experienced by players over the past couple of days.

Thanks.

This has been resolved.

Regarding the lag problems. Players are still encouraged to report it to customer support. They need information so that they can diagnose the issues and see whether there is a problem with our data centers.

Well To Be Honest What Can Be Said Except It's Terrible Lag.
Looking Through Most Of The Issues, They Began Around The April 24th Update (mine Were Certainly Just After) And If Anything Have Increased Since The Update On May 8th. There Is No One Certain Time It occurs As It's Generally A Game Wide "Slowdown" With The Odd Major Spike Upon Entering PvP or PvE Instances.

I Reside In Europe And It Has Become Pretty Aparant That Most The Problems Are There So Perhaps It's Something As Simple As Over Heating??? In Which Case It's Easy To Fix.
I Guess This Leads Me To Ask, Have You Guys Sent Someone To Physically Check Them? Or Perhaps Give Them A Clean?

This Ones a Long Shot - When Were They Last Restarted And Given A Time Out??
I Run A Server And Every Month My Users Have Grown Accustomed To It Being Down For An Hour Or Two To Prevent "Heat" Problems.
Not To Forget (And Most Computer Users Know This) That Sometimes There Nothing Better Than Hitting The Power Button And Coming Back In 10 Minutes.

Last time I checked Guild Wars's servers were in a secure data center where the temperature is always optimal, except for that one time when the cooling system broke and the servers went completely down but it was fixed a few hours later.

I will second that. Sounds like that could very well be the problem, but I have never worked with a server before. I'll leave this one up to the experts.

Yeah I Do Believe So But Sometimes You've Got Acknowledge The Fact that Even With Good AC Sytems, The Air Temp Is Still Going To Be Affected By The Surrounding Air. If The Air Is Hotter, Believe Me Europe has Been Hot These Past Couple Of Weeks, Then It Only Adds To The Pressure On The AC Hence Raising Temperature In General As The AC Works Harder.
To Be Honest Though I Think My Last Point Has More Weight, Even The Military Sometimes Has To Just Hard Reset The Systems.

And I'm suprised that they still haven't found the source of the lag issues. Perhaps the Chinese Earthquake? <.<

What earthquake? Why do I always miss news like that. -.-

And maybe it's just another broken router, like the one that caused Europe to lag for about a month.

Poke... well that explained the inability for me to do my monthly password rotation yesterday. Too bad PlayNC probed me for 9 pages of information regarding my accounts instead of just mentioning this, lol? Oh well, at least I got to change my passwords today. Thanks for updates Regina.
