Timer displayed on screen for timed missions
Revan Bastille
Anet, would you please put in a timer that would be displayed on each person's screen when they're in a timed mission. This would take out the guesswork and give a better idea of what you need to do (hurry up!!) to accomplish "Masters" in each timed mission.
Thanks
Thanks

We already have a timer and it works for any area: /age
While it starts time from when you first get in and not the time it takes you do the whole thing, it gives a fair representation.

Although yes this would make life easier, people have been using a different method since the release of Factions (and maybe before).
Its called... /age
It will display how long you have been in that area (which, during a mission, will be the amount of time you have been in the mission).
I think some missions DO have a sort of timer, for example, the second to last Factions mission and the one with Vizu. I think they are Raizu Palace and Thtththththth (cant spell) Temple but not 100% sure.

/age basically does the same, and saves A-net time and resources.
What do you think will happen? =)

I understand that "/age" will work, but it's not always accurate for how much time you have left to complete the mission to get Masters. All too often I've been in groups that missed Masters by mere seconds -- which could have been avoided with an on-screen timer. If we had a little window pop up on screen, like other MMO's do, it would be most helpful.
And "hi" Miskav, but I think I'm in a different [Hope].

Unless you load alot slower than someone else in your party "/age" should be perfectly accurate. I missed masters in Tahnnakai by one second once, and I doubt having a little timer would have made me any faster.

Convience for the win. They already have on screen timers for some misisons (that count down), so it is clearly possible. It is not game changing/breaking in the slightest.

time elapsed in GvG or something of that sort? The mechanic is already in the game. All they would have to do is apply it to the missions.

/age is not accurate because the mission timer doesn't start at the same time as the /age command.

pumpkin pie brings up a great point- people that aren't used to seeing that they only have x minutes left, and that aren't familiar enough with the mission to know that it would be possible in x time, will ragequit like a machine gun.
As for the original idea- I use the timer on my phone, and remove a minute from the mission time so it gives the extra minute :-p

I have this big clock on the wall behind my monitor, and i can hear the seconds tick off. Works for me, but for those that don't have that convenience ......

I've been about 7 seconds off of Master's once or twice with a guildie. That was quite annoying. Having a timer could help a lot, but I also imagine there would be a lot of pressure in PUG's and such because of this. Doubt it would that much more than normal for timed missions though.
