Streaming

I registered and I have my cd key and account all set for the upcomong beta.

My only question is do I have to dowload the game, or how is the beta going to work?

The simple DL from the GW site was obviously too small to be a game.

Is that MB counter on the screen telling me how much I have of the game DLed?

Pretty sure it will download once the beta actually begins, which is roughly 12:01AM Pacific Time. That is if they start on time. Not positive, but I recall reading something to that effect.

go ahead and run the exe file and you'll see. even if the game isn't allowing us in right now, you should still be able to get to the login screen. you'll notice that before it gets to that screen you'll see that you're d/ling more stuff.

When you open your client it will download files and then decompress them. The client should then open completely to the login page. In the top riight corner there will be a yellow lightning bolt and a number next to it whever they stream new content in.

Once ingame (when you can log in) everytime you enter a town/missoin/outpost/explorable area/pvp area you will download mroe content. The first time you enter a new area, it'll take a while to dl (depending on your internet speed) but after that it only downloads stuff you don't have yet (changes, info of hte players you are playing with/against)

Also, I pre-ordered my copy from EbGames, and it said that I would be able to use the ithas bow. Is that on the cd in the pack, or how will I be able to use it?

the preorder bonus item is not yours until the game is released. ie: april 28th.

if when you enter your password it says "your account is all set up but there is no event" ... blah blah... then you'll be fine. once you have the basic interface, the rest is streamed to you while you're playing.

Is this still the case or was this just during the Beta testing? I almost constantly have this yellow bolt saying 251k but my BF in the next room is getting a different number.
