Hi guys, I'm really new to this game; just bought a copy of prophecies 2 weeks ago. Im planning on buying all the campaigns but I'm not really sure if the "gameplay experience" would still be ok under nightfall and eotn. Who among you guys had run Nightfall/EOTN under the minimum pc requirements, and would it still be recommended?

(my old but reliable pc runs on 348MB RAM, 64MB Video, 2.4Ghz processor)

Thanks guys!

I used to run GW on an old laptop with similar specs. I could get by on low settings in proph, but the machine would really choke on Nightfall. NF has more demanding graphics.

Why not get buy more RAM and a vid card?

If you can run Prophecies, you can run NF and EoTN. It won't be pretty, but it should run. You should look into some of the command lines too, if you want to increase performance on an older system.

There is however, a problem with a few areas in NF and EoTN with certain graphics cards. The problem and the fix are somewhere in this sub-forum.

Actually, the game runs pretty fine on medium to high settings on my pc, and propecies (and consequently, factions because it has the same requirements). It's just that its a lot easier not to upgrade my pc than to do so if i'd buy nightfall too.

Thanks DarkFlame, for the link.

Yes, it'll run and you'll have a nice gameplay experience. But you'll have to choose between medium settings/nice gfx and a bit slow, or low settings/ok gfx and ok speed. I found that in PvP, you have to use the lowest settings, while PvE is ok with medium ones. I've enjoyed the game for 2 years with minimum spec (and even on a laptop) so there's no reason you shouldn't be able to.

Have fun!

When I first got NF I had a older pc that had a 1.6 ghz Celeron single Core with 512 mb ram and a crap integrated 950 graphics card (which wasn't even on the approved list). I was able to play (PVE) on medium settings without any problems until I got to Chantry of Secrets where I had to download some patch/mods to be able to enter that area and a couple others. So, without knowing anymore details of your machine specs.... I'd say yes, you can play NF.

*just a quick note - it's really easy to slap some more RAm into that machine (if I can do it anyone can do it) ... it will improve your everyday computing performance Noticeably if you upgrade it to about 1 mb or even 768. You can get a 512 stick of RAM for cheap cheap cheap. *

Yep yep - go here http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspx and run the scanner. Buy 1GB cheap cheap. Throw away the odd memory you have and install the new stuff.

Enjoy!
