Ok. One of my characters - a W/R20 - is currently in training as a runner from Ascalon to LA. As any experienced runner wil know part of this journey goes through Traveler's Vale. Now normally, provided I don't get a game glitch, all the other regions tend to be not too dificult, even though my training is to include all outposts in the journey. However I've found training for a run from Yak's Bend to Iron Horse Mine has been extremely difficult and my success rate isn't even 10%. Does any experienced runners have any suggestions in regards to this. I do have armour as provided by Boreal Station with properties of 80 armour each plus a shield of 16 armour and I concentrate my attributes on Strength for sprint and wilderness survival for Troll Ungulent while keeping endure pain on my skill list in case of an emergency and allowing my pet as a distraction for enemies but I've yet to have any way of guaranteeing passage. Any tips would be welcome.

let me guess, ice golems slowing you up and therefore you get wtfpwned? you need to be w/mo or w/me or something to get some hex removal.

plus, pet in a running build? take out charm and comfort (cause I'm assuming you don't leave it dead) and you can add it signet of stamina for +hp and enraging charge for more speed boost.

Yeah. Well the problem does tend to be two-fld one. Ice Golems do indeed slow me big time but Troll Ungulent also tends to be a gamble even though I get a regen of +9 since my warrior often gets distracted in the casting. don't tend to bring the pet after it's died since it comes back automaticaly when I make it to a new area and using comfort animal all the time would slow me down all the more. Thanks though for the advice on 2nd profession though. I might invest a character slot in the W/M usage me thinks. I believe I do have Enraging charge but not so sure about the signet of Stamina.

Thanks.

You don't have to make another char for W/mo or /me. Just change your secondary profession.

that part isn't too bad with all the ice golems. all you really need is healing signet with high tactics. i've found that despite the -40 armor while activatying, the mobs are so low level that they still don't do much damage while you're activating it.

Yep you must beat the dibblegrouper.

Wiki has good information on ascension:

Of course, we're all ssuming you're level 20, and have all the attribute points. But if you aren't, then I'd say stick to the game until you have done this both goals. Oh and also check about the skills; Enraging Charge and Signet of Stamina are from Nightfall, if you don't have them, but are specifying (sp?) in Wilderness Survival, get [storm chaser] for a constant 25% increased speed.
