Well I've been away from the game for about a year, and I'm back. I have some questions about how things have changed, mainly your opinions. So please don't just direct me away to some update log...

1) Before I left, there was a big divide between pve and pvp. Pvp nerfs would effect pve builds, and cause some bickering between the two "sides" (although, there never were any real sides). Has the pve-only skills in EOTN helped alieviate this problem? What purpose do those skills server? Are they generally more poweful than the other skills, or do they mainly server functions/utility that isn't directly related to combat?

2) At my time of leaving, it felt like solo-farming was under attack. With EOTN and new skills, is solo-farming still going strong, or has ArenaNet taken additional steps to discourage/limit this activity?

3) Are additional expansions planned before GW2 is to be released?

4) It's my understanding that human is still the only playable race in EOTN, is this true? Can you create new characters in EOTN, or must you enter that campaign at level 20 with a character you already created?

5) How much has EOTN effected the other areas of the game? Which aspects prior to re-lease may have been popular/profitable, and have now been "killed" with the release of the expansion?

Feel free to answer one or all of them, I hope my questions aren't too general.

Different problem arose, making the divide worse. The PvE skills were too powerful, and the introduction of craftable, strong consumables also made high-end PvE areas much easier (Urgoz in 30 min, Full DoA in less than 2 hours, etc.). This is the main subject of debate today, as many PvErs look down on those people that use it and PvPers look down on all PvErs for this.
Some say Ursan Blessing (the skill in mention, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ursan_blessing) is bad as it promotes Time> Skill since it is title-based, but others say it is just replacing the old Obsidian Flesh/Nuker cookie cutter builds. But generally, Ursan has been integrated fully into GW and any nerf could damage GW greatly, even if Ursan is godmode.

However, there is hope, as Anet recently announced that there will soon be PvP versions of some skills, making some of the bickering stop due to nerfs.

There are several places to solo farm/run in GWEN, so I would say that it is still a viable way to make money. Some of these areas were very profitable at the start of GWEN, but Anet has since toned the high activity places down so they drop less. Nevertheless, the final mission, two particular dungeons, a challenge mission, and a large assassin mob outside of a town are popular and profitable places to run/farm. I personally run my 600 Rit with a hero smiter on Cathedral of Flames (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Cathedral_of_flames)

Not like GWEN, to my understanding.

You cannot create characters in GWEN. A character must be at least level 10 to enter GWEN. So yes, humans are the only playable race still.

As I said before, certain PvE skills and consumeables have made other areas of the game much easier. This resulted in massive drop in price of armbraces, zodiac weapons, DoA greens, etc.

1. The war continues. But it will be over soon. Check the threads about the upcoming skill split.

2. Solo farming is much stronger with GWEN. There's at least 4 insanely easy farms, and dozens of slightly harder ones.

3. No.

4. Yes, humans only. Yes, you must enter with a pre-existing character, but they can be as low as lvl 10.

5. It's drained a great deal of the playerbase away from other areas, and it offers the best profitability.

thanks for the replies, I have one more question I forgot...

Is water magic viable in pvp or pve yet? It was always one of the least used attributes in the game... curious to know if it's been buffed enough that people are running builds with it?
