Any/E solo Raptor HM Farm (could be)

For ranger wouldn't be better to have storm chaser with stone stalker, that is tons of free energy for you.

Es que no tienes puntos de at suficientes! xD
It last for too low seconds to handle it.... and.. technically i dont know if you receive damage... so.. maybe storm chaser is not triggered

Well, for the mist form, you are already going to have to invest most of your points in both water and earth magic leaving just a few for another attribute. So if you want to use storm chaser as a running skill to aggro the raptors, you won't get nearly the length of time as your would using armor of mist. Also, you won't really need energy again until you are late in the run when your are stationary and not being hit at all with mist form active.

i dont see any heals on these skills am i missing them? you go and agro all the raptors with silver armor on you will still be hit alot.

Damn I am at work till midnight
I have been farming raptors as W/Rit Vwk, but can't do the bosses half of the cave. Am going to try it with this-
Figure I will go with Totem Axe and a 20/20 earth recharge cast speed offhand (May go with earth wand with +5 energy and 20 % recharge - loose the extended enchants but gain another 20% probability of recharge)
My thoughts on build
Water 12
Earth 12
Tactics 3+1+3
Basic Skills
[Glyph of Concentration]
[Mist [email protected]]
[Sliver [email protected]]
[Bonetti's [email protected]]
[Wary [email protected]]
[Drunken Master] My running skill that lasts for a good long time
I figure the two stances will help with energy and defence on a warrior, and will enable me to recast with the protection of Wary Stance or Bonettis or Glyph.
The next question is the other 2 skills -
Some Options
[Healing signet] Hide it behind Mist form
[Radiation Field] add in some Degen
[Air of Superiority] Add in recharge time
[Feel No Pain] healing
Any thoughts on something better to put in there on a Warrior / Ellie?

I tested Drunken Master at level 7 Deldrimore. It is not fast enough. Since you have points in water magic anyway, armor of mist is adequate to get you through the cave. The prefer Glyph of Sacrifice over Concentration. It makes the cast instant (and therefore uninterruptible too AND you don't need to pause and get mobbed when you cast it). The downside is that it lengthens the recharge time but that is moot since the death of the Brood Mother (who should go down first if you have her targeted right) will recharge all of your skills anyway. Don't forget that Glyph of Concentration is nerfed down to one skill. You also have back to back stances in Bonetti's and Wary. Just replace one of them with Magnetic Aura (an enchantment) and you should be good to go. I've played with Radiation Field on the raptor run, it causes too much scatter. Air of Superiority MUST be used. You shouldn't need any healing at all since nothing will hit you and Air of Superiority give you health boosts 1/5 times. Ebon Battle Standard of Honor seems to be the gold standard for boosting Sliver Armor.
Also, I was having a slew of interrupted runs suddenly despite my previous success. I couldn't figure out was I was doing wrong and then I realized that I was rushing the cast of the Sliver Armor before the entire mob got to me. Raptor Nestling use their disrupting stab skill on their initial attack. It normally has a 10 second recharge, so in hard mode you minimally it will take a 5 second recharge from the initial attack. If you let them all mob you and waste their interrupt skills, you should have a 5 second window to cast your sliver (coupled with your blocking skills) without chance of interruption. So, in other words, don't rush. Let them fully aggro.
BTW if you start rubber banding (where you suddenly are taking damage from seemingly nothing because your character is stuck on a raptor due to lag), the run is not lost. Just go ahead and activate your mist form anyway and then walk straight for the broodmother. You can usually still kill her with plenty of time before mist form wears off (and hence giving you a free recharge).

I'm having some trouble getting this to work on my warrior, I have 41 Energy so that is not a problem. The Build I am running with a Totem axe is
[Armor of [email protected]][Glyph of [email protected]][Mist [email protected]][Glyph of Concentration][Sliver [email protected]][Wary [email protected]][Air of Superiority][Bonetti's [email protected]]
I accept the bounty, run to the mouth of the cave and cast 1-4 one after each other, I then proceed to run to the Broodmother and auto attack her then cast Sliver Armor followed by Wary Stance then Air of Superiority.
I was having trouble with Mist Form as it lasts for 19.8 Seconds but has a recharge time of 30, but Glyph of Swiftness reduced the Recharge time down to 22.5 seconds leaving me with 2.5 seconds where I am unprotected (Bonetti's covers this Using Adrenaline gained from Wary Stance)
Are there any glaring errors in what I am doing or does it just come down to practice and timing? maybe if I include [Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] I would kill Broodmother faster and negate the need for [Glyph of [email protected]] and [Bonetti's [email protected]]
[Slightly offtopic I found this to be much more worthwhile in NM, here are my drops after about 20 runs http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/1490/gw001ri2.jpg]

I dont have (and dont want to atm :P) equipment on all my chars to test this, but i think that just luck is what we try when we use sliver and/or air of sup.
The things is not to keep mist form always on, as we rely on a recharge from rekoff's death and some possible recharge from air of sup.
And my main intention is to kill the mother + his nestlings, not the full cave hehe. Rest of the cave depends on everyone opinion ^^.
I shall suggest this to my bro, who has a warrior as main.... :P

Concentration has a one second casting time and can be interrupted just as easily as the sliver armor. You are better to use your wary stance to block the sliver interruption (I'm not familiar with that skill, but based on the description it should work great). Use Glyph of Sacrifice as your "don't interrupt me" skill. Don't cast mist until your sacrifice glyph is blinking (I only cast the swiftness glyph the first time and never cast it again). That will buy you more time to take down the broodmother and get your free recharge. You don't need a second blocking stance. It will just cancel out the first one and once your sliver is up and running, you are pretty much home free. I would definitely add in Ebon Battle Standard of Honor to boost sliver. I will usually zone out when it looks like I am down to the last 2-3 and it looks like Mist Form is finally going to have to drop (in other words, it is always up after I initially activate it and I never get hit). So, heck, for a warrior, I think wary stance will make you interrupt-proof for your sliver cast so you could probably even go a triple combo of sliver armor, EBSOH, and maybe Intensity. Also, try to aggro the whole cave. The more raptor involved attacking, the more effective the sliver effect is. Also try to pre-select the Broodmother AND wand her before casting sliver. She will literally drop in a couple of seconds after the cast.
As soon as I figure out the program to use, I will put a video up of my run which seems to be working very well right now. (since this mythical "lockpick" farm doesn't seem to be producing squat). So take my build, and just replace my one ranger skill with whatever your profession can offer as a fast casting blocking skill.
Voodoo Rage
Well, here's my attempt at a video. Not the most watchable thing, but you can see my skill bar in action. What you may not be able to see is how I ran to the right and targetted the broodmother before entering the cave. Also notice how I cast Mist Form about halfway through the cave (right before my glyph of sacrifice expired). Ignore the crappiest drops ever.

Voodoo, that's a really useful video, thanks for posting that, I think where I am goign wrong is I am casting Mist form as soon as I enter the cave and then running straight to the broodmother, I'll try it your way and report back in.
Fragile Feeling
Does anyone have a monk/ele build for this? im very curious because i can't farm here 55 style because i don't have nightfall.. darn SoA
Voodoo Rage
I know nothing about a monk (other than that they are never around when you need them... ...), but I would think that you could take my build and just replace Whirling Defense with a fast casting blocking skill (Shield Guardian perhaps?).

What Voodoo Rage says is right. You can try with any of the glyphs and change whirling with a blocking skill. Being a caster, Mental Block (asuran skill) should be an option.

What you really mean to say by Any/Ele is Any that can't already farm raptors very effectively. Namely, using these builds:
Assassin: [build=OwZToY/85R6zj0Z4CgRxInVWB] [build=OwZUgoE7r/SSf8I6M8Q4g5iwl4OA] Elementalist: [build=OgdTkY28Z6rKZQnB3hHCHMXEuE] [build=OgVTMyEzyBV8VLFxCeIKwEEBA] Or, this is a build that I made to farm with my ele (if it's been done before - sorry). This is the most effective build I find, and works more or less just as well as the pre-[flame djinn's haste] nerf build: [build=OgdTo4F+VpYUGgJnvF3RnxFA] Mesmer: [build=OQZTAyAPSSoqU4rKukHqVwEICA] Ranger: [build=OgYSk4LTbV3lAHoCoGwl8QAAA] Warrior: [build=OQgjEpVYIT5FWMDWpFul8FdFGWA] Feel free to add this to OP, because it's easiest to look at this way. ragnagard
Well, i mean that, of course. If you had a ranger or some /= ele/ase you couldnt use SF to do the same trick.
Now there it's a little window of oportunity using mist form. I will think about putting that on the 1st but, they are already on wiki and/or have no full protection over damage (especifically ranger one, and the ele ward build) or seems too difficult to use at first (i dont use my mesmer so often hehe). Maybe i will update with the mesmer one because it fits on the "any/e" topic. But warrior not, for sure, as is can't handle rekoff's group, what's the main point here (i suppose). EDIT: Updated 1st post with mesmer build, marked as alternative (because of the different elite skill) and a direct link to Sethellington's post (this above mine) Voodoo Rage

Ranger: [build=OgYSk4LTbV3lAHoCoGwl8QAAA] I think the new build is much better than that one, which depends heavily on the throw dirt skill which gets interrupted fairly often and is also very damage intensive. |
