Why are everlastings so expensive?

Why oh why are everlasting Phantasmal's so expensive? Arenanet PURPOSELY gave them a high drop rate of about 1 every 1000, most likely more! Seeing them go for over 100 ecto really upsets me because:

1: I'd like to own one and don't play enough to get this large sum of money
2: Arenanet WANTED them to be achieveable, so why are people overcharging?
3: This is the main reason. I look in the high-end section and there are sooooo many tonics being put up daily, you'd think that they'd be down to 100k+60 or so, an achievable range. But no, there still well over 160ecto. My logic tells me... if theres more of these put up in 24hours than a mini mad king... than why are they more expensive? Mini mad kings are rare mini's that only drop with a VERY slim chance on your third birthday. These tonics drop regularly and there are no requirements (you could've bought the game today and got one!). Also, everlastings will be USELESS in GW2, the mad king is able to be dedicated in the HoM.

MY rant will never end... someone please tell me, why are they so damn expensive, please.

The same reason ArenaNet gave polar bears a 1 out of 1,000,000 drop rate.

Because due to current global geopolitical situation, the oil prices have gone up, causing weak dollar, which in turn exerted upwards push on all luxury commodities, including everlasting tonics.

This trend is expected to settle and even reverse in upcoming weeks as economy is expected to recover.

Because players are willing to pay that amount of money. It really can't be any more simple than that.

Um, QQ less about price and start farming? Cause once the month ends price will go much HIGHER!

On a more serious note, I went from 60k to 100e and bought one in about a week. 100e isnt alot

The drop rate is HUGE though, didn't you see number3? Mad King's drop less, and they are worth something for GW2, these drop MORE, cost MORE, and are unuseable for gw2! like wtf!

its the same reason, like for everything...

People are simple selfish and greedy, as long something drops not like sand on the beach, people will try ever to make out of somethign new as much money as possible.

Supply and demand. The faster you learn it, the faster you'll understand how the economy works and (hopefully) you'll realize why QQing about it is pointless.
