Lockpick drop / lucky weekend

I haven't gotten max treasure hunter or lucky title tracks yet. How many people have gotten 50 or more purples in a row after the max was reached? I saw several players complain about 100+ purple drops. Just wondering if that crap was still happening. Thanks.

100 purple drops is comething u have only from ascalon chests and other 60gp keys chests. anyone telling "i got 100 purples in a row from 600+ chests" is just laughable.
gold rate is around 30% in normal mode and 60% in hard mode (with another 15% of regular and elite tomes).

u can have many purples in a row, you can open 10 chests and find 10 purple items, but in the long run statistics always win.

Weekend hasn't started yet, you know?

My experiences are similar to Fear's. I have a 58% retain from 600g chests, and I find that I end up with about 4 golds for every 5 lockpicks I break (making it slightly higher then 30% chance per chest, subject to random variation).

The only chests that bad are the very low end ones, unless you have the worst luck ever.

Also, your title rank has nothing to do with the purple/gold rate (something you seem to imply in your post).

As long as the 1 gold out of ten drops keeps containing a Superior Vigor I'm not complaining.

Erm, I'm just going to be farming lockpicks out the wazoooooooo. Lucky and Unlucky are ridiculous using Lockpicks and the more money I save on those blasted things the more I can spend during festivals to move my Luckies tens of thousands of points at a time.

I've had an unlucky streak once, but it didn't last for more then what? 20 purples?
It's all pure random, even after you max the title.

Exactly my thoughts too. And btw only chests in Nightfall or EoTN give inscriptable stuff. At the moment I'm vanquishing in Tyria again so no reason at all to waste lockpicks on those chests.

Someone gave me a chest run about a month ago, (the unlocked ones(no lockpicks/keys) anyways from those ones I got 90% golds, and he got 95% purples. humorous, but it might have something to do with titles...Not sure really

Off-topic, but where is a good place to farm Lockpicks - plz dont tell me with a 55 (I JUST deleted him the other day) lol

As for the free Treasures, the more your character uses them, the lower the value of the drops.

I'd say Raptor farming would be a very good place to farm picks.

Here is my two cents...

First off if you want to max out the unlucky title, do it in Hard Mode as you break Way more lockpicks. Also it is weird but I have noticed that if you have the Treasure Hunter Title you get less Gold drops then when you put on the lucky title.

I have been farming chests outside of Boreal Station and here are my findings.

To max out the titles will actually cost you nothing, nothing but your time that is. How so, if you do hard mode and kill 10 snow wurms you will get an average 3 golds 5 purples and a 40 white drops (at least 50 gold at merchant per white-2K) + tomes and special drops (for festivals) and 2K for every 10 runs. This is WITHOUT opening a chest. That is right. No chests. You might also get 1 or 2 lockpicks from this. So 10 Lockpicks per hour going to LA and buying your lockpicks there for 1250 each.

Recap. You should make 1250 gold every 3 runs. 2 nights ago while killing wurms I got a shield that had the +30 health mod that I sold in LA for 4K. That is 3 lockpicks right there. ( I have also gotten 3 Aptitude not attitude and almost every inscription you can think of)

I do not use my lockpicks in HARD MODE. I go to Normal mode. Why? Cause the odds of retaining my lockpick is more than double. I will max out the lucky title first as my retention rate increases.

I have perfected a war build to kill the 10 snow wurms in 5 minutes (HM) as there is a pattern that exists to pop the little baddies from the ground on my q. So I can easily do the 10 runs in one hour. and I get around 6-8K per hour and I currently have 29 lockpicks for this weekend!!!

This is also how I got the Legendary Survivor Title. 396xp/kill w/o scrolls.

I keep hearing of two chests near the snow worms out side of boreal but I can only find one per run. Does anyone know where the other one usually appears?

For that very reason, shouldn't you be focusing on Unlucky first? If you max Lucky beforehand, your chance at breaking will have decreased by 22% overall which seems like it would significantly slow things down

Yep, hard mode is the way to go. That way you can work on both titles.

Pretty sure Fear is working on her unlucky title. I've got both lucky and treasure maxed and fully agree with the stats Fear put.

Fear already got his unlucky title, he's a beast.

As for me I'll be doing a bit of both..moreso opening chests though.

NM or HM?

In normal mode should never go near the pinesouls. The first chest spawn sit is right at the first Y in the path and close to the bridge. The second spawn site is when they come back together. The third spawn site is in the corner next to the last worm spawn site (in HM Pinesouls will be there mixed with the worms) around the bend. The fourth spawn site is directly accross the bridge.
